Ohio State offers Inauguration Day 'safe space' - The College Fix

Ohio State University will offer a “safe space” for students today as the nation inaugurates Republican Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States.

“The purpose of this event is to foster a safe space for the Ohio State campus community to connect with one another, support aspirations, and empower growth and change,” organizers state.

The “I, too, am America” event is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include three concurrent offerings from noon to 3 p.m.: a screening of the inauguration festivities in one room; another room set aside to “pause, reflect and share”; and a third swath of rooms for teach-ins by grad students, faculty and staff.

My generation is sadly a bunch of moronic sissies that don't see anything wrong with being moronic sissies. Really though, my generations sissy bull**** is a consequence of the idiocy of the last three generations or so.

Of course it is. Been that way forever. The sweetest revenge is when the march of time catches up to the kids, and the day comes when they realize how truly stupid they were.

I'd suggest that's why such a trend is part of life.

I'm sure that segregationists and the nativists of the No Nothing Party were feeding themselves the exact same line of BS when they entered their dotage.
 
They need one of these in Washington for the 66 congressional democrats who were too emotionally hurt to get out of bed this morning.

No doubt they could benefit from some "teach-ins" as well.

I have kids in college. They'll be doing the kicking, not me. Symbolically, of course, as in living a productive life in the competitive world with backbone and adaptability.

Everybody leans left until they actually do something in life. As the saying goes, "If you're 20 and conservative, you don't have a heart. If you're 40 and liberal, you don't have a brain."

IKR. Amen. Life has a way of kicking people in the teeth. The real question isn't how well you take it, but if you pick yourself up and continue to flip life the bird in defiance.
 
Safe spaces in this instance aren't necessary. If you're pissed off at this ceremony, it's time to face it head on.

I didn't. :2razz: I leaned conservative when I was a teenager and moved towards libertarianism in my twenties.

I think all conservatives are largely libertarians at heart.

I have a few millennials that do a little work for me and they are fine young people, and very hard workers.

It's the little girly ones who waste 4 years of college on some BS degree, and end up selling cell phones or working as a barista who are the bitter ones.

I sense it on here with his type.
 
Dear Millenials.

We know you are struggling. We know you are sad. We know you are depressed. We know you miss Obama already.

Just something to chew on. Over the last 8 years, the Obama administration doubled the entire nations history of debt. In just 8 years, he dumped more debt on YOU than every president COMBINED since we became a country. And what exactly do you have to show for it? Did he rebuild the nations infrastructure? No. Did he absolve your student loan debts? No. Did he create middle to upper income level jobs? No. Did he build a robust economy with sustainable growth? No. Did he at least give you 'affordable' health care? No. Did he help the inner cities? No. Did he strengthen or rebuild our military? No. Did he at least create a strong foreign policy? No.

He spent 8 years...doing...what exactly besides writing checks that YOU will end up having to cover?

And you love him. You are sad to see him go.

Thats...tragic.
