Mick Mulvaney, Trump’s pick for OMB director, failed to pay $15,000 in taxes

So, it's unconstitutional for a member of Congress to introduce an amendment to the Constitution? Interesting history book you've got there....

Now, Jasper, you know damn well that isn't what I said.

Now, Jasper, you know damn well that isn't what I said.

This was the exchange:

"He's not going to release his tax returns. Maybe next cycle, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

In the meantime, will anyone in Congress introduce a Constitutional amendment to make it mandatory?"

To which you replied:

"That would be unconstitutional."

Why would a constitutional amendment adding a qualification for POTUS, or proposing such an amendment, be "unconstitutional"? The Constitution is where we look for qualifications for office. Certainly we can add to them or subtract from them as a country if we want.

I admitted that I misread the post. Like I said, the Liberals just aren't going to let it go. I pegged that one. :lamo

I'll let it go - I missed your later comment. My deepest apologies!

Tim Geithner failed to pay 34 grand. Not only did Shumer want him confirmed, "as quickly as possible", but everyone from the Left wanted him confirmed as well.

I cant speak for the left but love is not a word I ever heard used in his regard. And the thing you need to understand was Geithner was picked to appease you and yours. the country was not only in a deep financial crisis that needed experienced people but you and yours were running around foaming at the mouth that President Obama was a secret muslim kenya socialist Nazi communist. If President Obama had picked anybody but a conservative establishment guy, your conservative masters would have had you rioting in the streets.

And fyi, I personally hated Geithner. I live and work where he's from and his "what, was I supposed to do that" routine is considered quite acceptable. I had to deal with that type of BS on a daily basis. Its how I knew where he was from. I know he failed to pay taxes that he had paid before. I know he had to sign a form every quarter acknowledging he knew he had to pay those taxes. And get this, he wasn't a house painter confused by "furren taxes". he was a finance guy.

But as much as I didn't like him, I understood the reasons. And he was already a substantial part the recovery efforts. As far as Schumer goes, there's a reason your conservative masters don't give you actual quotes and just assure you with "wah wah Schumer's a hypocrite " narrative.

Tim has made some mistakes, which he has freely admitted and corrected. But these errors pale before the myriad mistakes made by the operators of financial institutions and government regulators overseeing them. We need the very best, not the second best person in treasury to correct those mistakes.

Transcript: Timothy Geithner Confirmation Hearing

Thanks to President Obama the Great Bush Recession and Bush Financial Crisis is a distant memory. So distant, you and yours seemed to have forgotten about it.
