Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), who was recently promoted to chief deputy whip. “He said: ‘I’m for working people and for taking on Wall Street, I’m for draining the swamp.’ And his nominees say the exact opposite.”

Senate Democrats want to force Trump’s picks to lay down markers on specific policies that can be used to build a case against the incumbent as his administration unfolds and the next election approaches, insiders said. More immediately, they want to begin to make the case to Trump voters that what they voted for is a far cry from what they’ll be getting with the next president.

2) Starting out trying to show up Trump, then getting crushed again as Trump both gets his people and moves America forwards will highlight yet again that these jokers are incompetent time wasters who should never be handed an important job, cause they just are not interested in working for America.
 
So their line of attack is that he's not going to do all those things he said he was going to do that we thought were so awful we threw a six-week tantrum over them, and tried to get the election overturned for?

I don't see democrats being able to do anything to block Trump's nominations. They bit themselves in the ass in 2013.

At the time of the vote there were 59 executive branch nominees and 17 judicial nominees awaiting confirmation.[SUP][59][/SUP]
 
all it takes is 51 votes to confirm them thanks to harry reid.

there is little they can do to stop his cabinet appointments.

They admit that right now, yet they still have decided that they are going to waste tons of America's time with one of their Amateur Hour shows.

Meanwhile Trump will be on a tear trying to get work done.

The optics are going to suck for the D's.

They dont know this yet.

Harry won't be quite as smuck in the coming months, and he will be bashing in his TV screen when see's the Trump's nomination pass.

I hope it causes heart stoppage.

The R's should schedule 15 hours days 6 days a week, if these pricks want to play more of the BS DC ELITE games that America has just rejected then they need to be greatly inconvenienced for their stupidity and unwillingness to get to work.

This is going to be all net for the R's.

I can see why this would be a strategy well worth looking in to because when those picks have to lay out the details on the hows and whys of their strategies, the media will report exactly what they said and if they get in there the public can hold them accountable for what they told Congress.

And I wouldn't doubt seeing a good number of GOP lawmakers expressing their concerns as well on the final selection votes. ;)

No they wont, because the R's are going to trust that they working with Trump is going to get work done, and that they will be rewarded for working at the ballot box. The R's are going to be a unified front under the leadership of Trump, and they will mostly stay loyal, because if they dont Trump and his allies will punish them greatly. Already Congressional R's have learned to keep their yaps shut in public.

Short memory on why Reid had to pull McConnell's nuclear trigger in late 2014 due to filibusters on cabinet and judicial appointees.

How many judicial appointees were approved the last two years?
