Leak Reveals Rex Tillerson is Director of Bahamas-based US-Russian Oil Company

Donald Trump faces Senate backlash over ‘cabinet of billionaires’

“When he gets the friendship award from a butcher, frankly, it’s an issue that I think needs to be examined,” McCain told Fox News.

Rubio, who serves on the foreign relations committee that will vet Tillerson’s nomination before a full Senate vote, has said he has “serious concerns” about the appointment. “The next secretary of state must be someone who views the world with moral clarity, is free of potential conflicts of interest, has a clear sense of America’s interests, and will be a forceful advocate for America’s foreign policy goals to the president, within the administration, and on the world stage,” he said.

The selection of three Goldman bankers could open Trump up to criticism as, during the campaign, the president-elect repeatedly highlighted the bank as emblematic of the corrupt global elite that had stolen the futures of hard-working Americans.

Days before the election, Trump launched a TV advert that portrayed the Goldman chairman and chief executive Lloyd Blankfein as the personification of the global elite, which he said had “robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities”. Trump’s ire against Goldman persisted throughout the campaign: he attacked Hillary Clinton for giving paid speeches to the bank and accused his Republican nomination rival Ted Cruz of being “owned” by Goldman because his wife worked at the bank. “He will do anything they demand. Not much of a reformer!” Trump said in a January tweet.

But beyond the accusations of brazen hypocrisy, it is the enmeshing of business interests with affairs of state which is causing the deepest concern.

3 GS bankers?!?!?! 1 of them who got rich raping the middle class and stealing foreclosed homes during the crash in 2008-2009/.. Yep, Trump is one of 'the average' people. And he's anti-elitist. LOL..... What a bunch of gullible rubes who voted for this guy. I just hope and pray the Republicans in Congress for ONCE will put country before party and see through this conman before it's too late.

Trump is as anti-elitist as much as Emperor Palpatine was a Jedi Knight.

It wouldn't surprise me to find that you guys who are crying the loudest about rich people are actually all on welfare. Tattoos, nose rings, and welfare checks. What a bunch of loooooosers.

Not to worry. It's all being done so that the billionaires, mega millionaires, Wall Street and corporate captains can reverse the massive flow of money and power away from the 1% so that it will be returned to the middle and working classes. Trump promised that he would do that.

Though - I don't know that anyone understands why - heretofore it seems that the mega wealthy, mega privileged and mega powerful have long wanted the trickle down Reagan promised. They wanted the real Americans to have their fair share. It never happened. No one knows why, or no one has said, why the 1% has been thwarted from their efforts to modulate the insane amounts of money, power and privilege flowing unhindered to them. Trump being the consummate businessman and powerbroker is the only man apparently who can help these unfortunate one percenters stop the obscene control that flows with money and power in only one direction.

Trump knows what he is doing. I don't pretend to understand. Perhaps a Trumpanzee can sort this all out for us. They obviously understand much that the rest of us cannot fathom.

This is fantastic news! Rex Tillerson is a job creator in the Bahamas.
I hope that he loses focus in the Bahamas and Russia and starts focusing here instead.

It is interesting that you share your very non-Christian opinion.

He also has the word Negro on his resume. Surprising.

Maybe all those billionaires and millionaires will help Trump pay for this wall that Mexico said that they are not going to pay for. :funny

They will also need to send literally billions to support the State of Arizona. If Trump builds a wall it will cost the Arizona billions. Mexico is Arizona's biggest trading partner. And then there is the cancellation of the ACA (with no replacement), which apparently the GOP and Trump plan to do within the first 100 days. That combined with the Trump Wall will sink the Arizona economy in very short order. I do hope the billionaires are planning to send much of their money for years to come to support Arizona.

Legitimate commerce would be unaffected by a Trumpian wall.

Why in the world would the Republican party have a problem with Trump hiring billionaires? Yea, it's really going to make it difficult for them to cut taxes on the wealthy and cut social security. They're getting what they wanted in the first place.

Wait...the 'revelation' that from 2001 to 2006 he was KNOWN to be an Exxon executive and during that time was over their Russian operations (and hasnt been in that position in over 10 years) has caused Rocket to **** himself...again?

Trump and his followers don't seen to get that you can't be antiestablishment if you got awfully rich from the status quo.

The next 4 years will be more the same, just with funnier sound bytes and headlines.

The French Revolution was begun by members of the French establishment in 1789. You may be surprised.

Yep the trumpisms will be quite entertaining as well as the Trumptards trying to do mental gymnastics to justify it :lamo

Except in one instance, we have billionaires who got elected by telling us the system is rigged for billionares. While in another instance were people throwing an actual revolution.

But it's pretty ****ing laughable that you can compare Trump's administration with the French revolution.

The end is often not foreseen by those who act first. I'm not a Trump supporter. I just think the country may be on the brink of some big changes.

I can undrrdtand The Guardian agitating against the US. But please explain, what you think is bad given the present knowledge.

A Bahamas domiciled company would go against Trump's professed dislike for globalism.

Also, look at this: Trump appoints a guy who stands to make a bunch of money off of cozier relations with Russia, and who we already know is buddies with Vladimir Vladimirovich. Conflict of ineterest.

It's great to see him "draining the swamp" through crony capitalism. No wonder Putin likes him.

Donald Trump could have appointed all qualified saints without fault or blemish or baggage of any kind who took a vow of poverty, cured cancer, achieved world peace, and ended world hunger and there would have been severe backlash against those appointments.

I am rather encouraged that he is choosing people who already made their fortunes and want to give something back instead of professional politicians who want to use their positions as the stepping stone to power, prestige, influence, and personal wealth.

I disagree. I can see Trump bringing back the guillotine. Better than Twitter. LOL.
