Washington State Legislators Propose Bill to Allow Guns into Sports Stadiums

In a crowd like that? There are plenty of unarmed victims. Are you really suggesting return fire is a significant concern?

You won't admit that it doesn't happen. But, we saw that coming.

If it doesn't happen, there's no need for this law then. Great.

Ever hear of The Constitution o of The United States?

The Constitution that you people only care about when it's convienent? Yeah, I've heard of it.

Too bad for you everybody accepts the fact that the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness comes before your fantasies about bringing your Glock to a football game.

Most states that allow carry (CCW) into venues that serve alcohol stipulate you may not drink while armed.

Before someone says "yeah like they'll abide by that, NOT" let me remind you they don't have to abide by the law against carry either...

They do in the professional stadiums I've visited, by checking bags and putting people through airport style metal detectors. At the local university, they ban all but small purses and look through those pretty carefully, and use a metal detecting wand to check for weapons on your person.

The chief reason to carry to a stadium is for protection in the parking lot.

Use the buddy system? In a big crowd after the game, the only danger I've ever worried about is pickpockets and the like - maybe some drunk fan wanting to fight. Never occurred to me that I needed a gun to deal with either.

LOL, that's probably why lots of businesses including the NFL prohibit weapons.
I have no issue with a privately owned stadium banning weapons.

What amendment contains the provision that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are protected rights?

Something tells me that a Seahawks Ref is going to get shot, if this works out.

No amendment. Of course, that's because those three principles were considered so important that they were enshrined well before any amendments.

Ever hear of "it's the owner(s) of the property's rights to not allow firearms on the premises"?

I agree that if the owners decide to allow it they should be able to.

If the property owner wishes to prohibit guns, that's his right. A law prohibiting guns on private property is unconstitutional.

Just a note: It is illegal for someone to carry and be intoxicated, even with a license or whether or not it is legal to carry on the premises.

My concealed carry instructor put it like this: "It's illegal to drive while intoxicated. The BAC level in Texas is 0.08%. It's also illegal to drink while carrying concealed. The BAC is 0.00%."

Get it? Got it.

This law would prohibit property owners from prohibiting guns.

So, we're on the same side now, right? Bad law.

I that regard, I agree.

If you feel the need to carry a gun to a sports event, perhaps you should find another hobby.

Soooo, people lose their right to self defense because they are attending a sporting event?

If your that afraid of guns perhaps you should consider not going out in public
