Tennessee Town Becomes First To Pass ‘No Sanctuary’ Resolution

I guess that would depend on your definition of prevent

True. I can see how some gray areas, and not so gray areas, could arise. That would be up to the courts to settle. The Feds can also always withold federal funds as leverage.

our town has civilian patrols. if we spot an illegal, we notify the authorities after they are given a "proper talkin to"

Anti-Immigration Civil Patrolman returns home to his wife to explain what "a proper talkin to" really means...

Checking for a valid ID or Driver's license doesn't seem particularly hard.

Every apartment I ever rented and every job I ever had also required a SSN so I don't see how they were doing that in the first place.

I suppose that living in MS would shelter you somewhat to how the system works. The illegals have access to a document factory. When they apply for a job they have an ID and a SS card. The low rent landlords photocopy the fake cards and file the paper. They know that the workers won't trash the place and the rent will always be paid on time.

The employers do the same, only are way more forgiving. If 12 new hires submit the same SS number, they will be hired. As long as the employer has the photocopies on file they won't get into trouble.

In order to understand how illegals can live and work in the USA one must understand the system that allows them to do so.

Well if they are using fake SSNs it should be pretty easy for ICE to track them down and deport.

Who is going to report them? If ICE raids a chicken factory they will catch illegals. They already know that any info given to the employer will be fake. It's common knowledge. ICE would like to catch the fake document maker. That would be very difficult and the FBI's job.

Caught, deported, back on Thursday. Don't know anything about the documents.

I would assume the IRS, if they are using fake SSNs.

If a city or state wants to expend their resources enforcing federal law that is up to them. But it certainly shouldn't be required.

And I assumed it was their duty enforcing federal laws .

They do not file with the IRS. Taxes out = lost money. Will work cheaper for 'under the table' pay.
