If you like things down below as smooth as a baby’s bottom, you may want to rethink things. A new study done at the University of California—San Franciscoreports that people who regularly groom their pubic hair are 75% more likely to develop a sexually transmitted infection than non-groomers. As reported earlier this year, STIs are on the rise.
The survey, reported in the journal “Sexually Transmitted Infections,” included U.S. residents 18-65, asking their grooming habits, sexual behaviors, and STI history. One of the reasons for the corellation between STIs and shaving? The act of shaving may create “epidermal microtears” that might allow transmission of bacteria or viruses like HPV.

Always preferred at least a landing strip. The little girl thing doesn't do much for me... :lamo

It kind of makes sense. Your hair is not there for decoration. It has a purpose.

Interesting.

But next time try the reverse landing strip. Less zipper mishaps.:lamo

It's the act of shaving itself which is the problem, not the absence of the hair.

Yep, shaving nicks and cuts/scrapes/rash whatever are all open vectors for infection..

Who the hell "grooms" their pubic hair?

If it's people who have a lot of sexual partners, then there may not be a direct cause and effect between grooming and STD's.

So, use wax is what I'm hearing?

Smooth story here. I think the point is the skin cuts and damage allows infections in. But at the same time, hair is like a magnet for bacteria and viruses. It's as though it has a planned purpose...

I think it is more to do with the fact that those that shave down there the most are probably the most active sexually...and thusly, have a much greater chance at contracting STD's.

I guarantee you the more people shave down there (on average), the more sexually active they are.

I don't think it correlates..

I have only ran across a few women that do not, and I wouldn't say that they were any less slutty than those who do..

When I was in HS pretty much all girls did, even virgins and goodies..

It's a thing that younger generation girls just do, even if they are not sexually active..

There you go. Younger people are far more sexually active than older people. Young people shave far more than older people. There is your correlation.

By the way, men - on a much lesser scale - shave down there as well.

Young people these days may be more sexually active while they are young than older people were when they were young.

But your not going to tell me their is a shortage of cougars on the prowl.. Older women are a whole nother level of sexually active, they don't beat around the bush, and also lack bush..

Okay...not sure what your point is in relation to this topic, but okay.

Shaving, especially amateur attempts, leaves many very small open wounds, open wounds are vectors for ingress of many types of foreign germs and bacteria, viruses, etc.
Pretty simple..

Lazer all the way.

Well not all the way.

Don't lazer your way back to pre puberty....it is just wrong.:lamo

My guess is that folks are not changing their blades frequently enough as well.

Wrong? Too much pubic hair is just gross. Frankly, when genetic engineering of the human race gets into full swing it'll be one of the first things to go.

What I stated was lazering back to pre puberty is "wrong". I wasn't suggesting going pubic hair reminiscent of Don King.:lamo

...or 70's porn. Ew.

What a bunch of wimps. Propane torch is the only way to go.

what qualifies as too much? I don't believe it is gross

Breaking the subject only a little bit, when I was in JROTC in high school we had a uniform inspection one day and a class mate of mine missed a spot shaving, he actually heat treated it with a zippo
