Japan to invest $50 bil in US and create 50,000 new jobs thanks to trump

As always, the devil is in the details. Few of which are available.

Softbank is a large Japanese telecom that has struggled in the US. They currently own Sprint, and tried to buy T-Mobile, and were shot down for anti-trust reasons. They're hoping the new administration will be more lenient.

They are not going to move a huge factory to the US. What they are doing is planning to fund startups.

They already have something going with the Saudis, where they have promised $25 billion, the Saudis another $45 billion, and they are looking for more investors to total $100 billion. It's not clear whether that fund is what the CEO was talking about -- or if anything about their plans have actually changed.

So basically, a Japanese CEO is investing in the US (good) while promising lots of jobs (which may or may not materialize) and making the President happy (so his company can buy another company).

Sounds like business as usual to me.

Japan’s SoftBank to Invest $50 Billion in U.S., Trump Says - Bloomberg Politics

And do you have a problem with business as usual if it will net 50K jobs?

We know how the measures work and we know what thy are used for.
Riiiiight

It isn't wrong because hat is what the reports said if you actually read them.
...except those reports never really bothered to mention that U6 has been dropping steadily, that you have to compare current U6 to past U6 (not past U3), and that there are numerous demographic reasons why LFPR started *cough* 2001.

Even just recently the jobs report said the decline or major part of the decline was people
Leaving the work force.
And previous media reports on unemployment have pointed out that, in many recent months, the U3 unemployment went up because people were rejoining the workforce and looking for work. Were you cheering then?

Sorry you don't get to define my argument. I am not committed and you don't get to assign anything.
The r five and r six numbers give a much better employment out look.
lol

I didn't define anything; you and others have spent years proclaiming that alternate measures (like LFPR) and unemployment rates, that apparently you don't fully understand ("r five?" who uses that term? it's "U5"), are the "right" measures to follow. And since some of those measures will probably not improve any time soon, you don't get to jump back to U3 because it suits your argument, or partisan preferences.

I have no problems with a *cough* foreign company investing in the US.

I have a problem with politicians who try to mislead the public, especially when they are basically making promises that can't be kept. Rust Belt workers who read that headline, and imagine millions of sweet juicy jobs coming their way, will be sorely disappointed.

Liberal companies and nations in a panic. China stopping libera Hollywood with their conservative movies. Trump bringing the jobs wil prove liberals as the enemy. Liberal leaders will be jailed. All liberal companies will die

Blacks will get jobs and show them that liberals Are the enemy. Then liberal leaders will be jailed

That's just ridiculous!

Follow the dominoes of life. When trump gets jobs for blacks jobs that will show blacks they were used
By the democrat party. Trump will be a hero the the leaders will be jailed
