Wind generation output tops 15,000 MW in ERCOT region

Hey, I think you're on to something. To get around the fact that renewable energy sources are inferior and expensive we can start marketing them as '' art ".

We can even make it retroactive, which is what your doing now. The article clearly states that the City Council is experiencing buyers remorse with one Council member stating that had she known how little power they produced she wouldn't have voted to install the Windturbines

The fact elected officials were so gullible to begin with is the real problem. People who's knowledge of power generation starts and stops at their Kitchen outlet are being suckered into voting for this inferior technology.

And its the tax payer that gets to foot the bill. " Art " ...Lol !!!

Well...no.

The installation was art.

Wind power is generating significant electricity, as was outlined in the OP.

You're not real good with facts and information, are you?

LOL...

They could qualify for Portland's 1% art tax!

The joke's on you.

And this too.

Cost of Wind vs. Fossil Fuels - MEIC

Combine that with the fact that coal ash is actually more radioactive than nuclear waste.

BTW, I love Scientific American Magazine. Have subscribed to it since 1965, and never missed an issue. And all the articles are written by scientists, not by members of political think tanks.

Did it tell you that granite countertops are also radioactive?

You need rather large backup plant independent of sun and wind. Alternatively you require enormously increased storage above that necessary every night, when the sun sets.

I wish I had a link, but they just made another big advance in using electro-magnetic fields to contain a sustained fusion reaction. I think we might just find a reasonable balance between polluting fossil fuels and renewables until we perfect that which will power the next (and genuine this time) "Great Leap Forward".
