Basically, 18 cities are pledging to remain sanctuary cities despite Trump's plans to cut off federal funding. For those who don't know, in sanctuary cities, local officials don't assist federal officials in locating illegal immigrants. Contrary to popular belief, illegals aren't exactly safe in sanctuary cities, they're just harder to aprehend. There are currently 200 cities but just 18 of them will remain after Trump steps into office.

Make it a criminal offence for public officials to neglect active pursuit of illegal immigrants. At the same time introduce legislation allowing illegals to become legal by turning themselves in and paying a fine to the community.

If you want them all forced to move to your sanctuary city have at it..

Have them round themselves all up for us, get em all in one spot so we can more easily go through them later, and bear the economical burden for us while your at it..

trump can't just shut off all Federal funding to a city.

Especially funding that has nothing to do with immigration enforcement.

Sorry but trump, if elected by the Electoral College, can't just unilaterally cut off all federal funding to cities that "defy" him.

… using existing law and the power of the purse, I have seen to it that the top 10 sanctuary cities in America have already been certified as violating existing federal law and therefore everything is pre-positioned for these 10 cities — including Chicago, New York, the entire state of California — they will lose all their federal law enforcement money, if President Trump chooses to, the president can cut off their money at noon on January 20th of 2017. If they do not change their sanctuary policies and hand over criminal illegal aliens in their custody to be deported, their days of receiving federal law enforcement money are over.

All, I would think not, but most appropriations give the President a lot of latitude on how the money is spent.

Hurting NYC's fight against terrorism and their struggle to secure their people, would be an act of treason.

Revoking federal monies at will is not a executive power that the President has. Regardless of what a random blogger on the internet thinks -- It's illegal and it'd land the administration in federal court.

Ironic, as at most the only money Congress could withhold, would be for police.

works for me. we can also federally charge the officials with conspiring to break federal laws. that's a felony. Indeed conspiring to break federal MISDEMEANOR laws is a FELONY

If trump does cut off security funding to New York City, I would imagine the first program they would be forced to eliminate, is NYPD security at trump Tower.
