Sheriff Clarke Just Got Some Amazing News from President-Elect Donald Trump

He was using an analogy to illustrate that we need to take action instead of just talking. But that's just the intepretation that's honest and isn't looking for something to intentionally misinterpret in order to engage in mudslinging.
You have to remember...this election has really shaken the core of some people and caused major butthurtedness. Its comical that the person MOST butthurted lives on the other side of the planet...but still...

DHS can be done by Justice, or Defense. I would put it under Justice, since that is where both the FBI and somewhat the CIA technically are under anyways.. well historically.

Possibly, but placing them somewhere else doesn't man they will go away.

Abolishing DoEducation, for instance, doesn't make the function go away. It would just return it to the states.

And if he picks someone with experience, these same people with criticize him for filling his cabinet with Washington insiders. The angry partisans on the left will jump on him no matter what he does, so he might as well pick whoever he wants.

Dumb way to be pick cabinet members. You're saying that the only people that would be well qualified are Washington insiders, I do not believe that would be correct. Personally I would not care what other people thought other than those I consult, especially the opposition. I would pick whomever I felt was the best qualified for the position, but that is just the way I operate, and I know others use different methods.

In the case of DoEducation.. it will go away, because most states (read Red states) would not do anything about it. Dump population is easier to control after all.

Has nothing to do with defense though.. it was suppose to be a coordination branch of government because of the failures of 9/11 by the FBI and CIA, but now you have "homeland agents" and what not. It is bloated, does not get the job done and certainly does not solve the problem that existed between the FBI and CIA.. now that same problem of lack of coordination is between the FBI, CIA and Homeland.. idiotic.

Sounds a lot like every other branch of the govt.

Homeland security should be disbanded.. thought conservatives was all about less government?

Finally, I agree with you on something. We should also disband all the other cabinet departments except for state, defense, justice and treasury.

And the post office should be returned to a cabinet agency, so state, Justice, treasury, let's rename the DoD back to the original (the War Department) and the post office department

He's the kind of "boots on the ground" type that we need in this kind of position. No more bureaucrats or career politicians, he's a lawman through and through with great leadership experience.

A bueaucrat is what you need for that job, the DHS sec is supposed to manage the administrative aspect of DHS, not face down Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, pistols at high noon

No, you need a couple of bureaucrats working for the lawman to handle that kind of grunt work. The decision-making process needs to come from a lawman, not a functionary. Bureaucrats make terrible leaders, but are critical to a good leader being effective. Our gov't has gotten this completely backwards for far too long.

On the surface i can say im thrilled. Is he qualified or is ths a political quid pro quo?

Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

Based on Trump's track record so far, there is some quid pro quo, but there almost has to be. BUT. . .and this is a HUGE BUT. . .he does seem to be selecting people imminently qualified for the positions. I am pretty sure if Sheriff Clarke is appointed to such a post, he will be qualified for it.

Helluva point!!!

It's still too early to tell, but it appears that "small government" has vanished from the Republican agenda.

Hardly a sign of "small" government, eh? Will it grow under President Trump as it has under Obama, or will it shrink? Only time will tell.

I am not aware of any government agency that has shrunk during any administration in my lifetime.

A Black man? But I thought only unemployed uneducated whites who lost their manufacturing job voted for Trump?

From what I hear from conservatives, every black person appointed at this level is an affirmative action quota pick.

Homeland security should be disbanded.. thought conservatives was all about less government?

Let's make it simple:

We are for national security. That is constitutional spending.

We're not for the Socialist vomit and goo responsible for much of the 19TRILLION of debt and 65 to 125 TRILLION of unfunded liabilities.

I am not aware of any government agency that has shrunk during any administration in my lifetime.
The Left always tries to shrink and neglect the military.

The Left always tries to shrink and neglect the military.

We can cut our military substantially and still be able to take on anyone in the world with ease. But hey, keep shoveling money into Lockheed Martin, that'll make things better.

Not true.

These conservative researchers say the U.S. military has become 'weak' and 'marginal'

We need a military so overwhelming nobody wants to think about taking us on.

I could easily believe that our military has suffered, but that would be a logical result of 15 years of steady combat operations, in which in some of those years the casualties from suicide are greater than the casualties from enemy actions. I think in Irag, that statistical level was reached in 2005.

But during all that time, those profiting from the war have done very well, thanks much.

Yes, we've worn down our military by taking the country to war under fraud. Still, those making the $ have become very well off. That's what fraud can do.

War under fraud? Oi vey. (Face palm)

The war with Radical Islamists is not over. We let the vermin multiply and spread at our own peril.
