FBI probing new Clinton emails

"In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation. I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation," he [FBI Director Comey] added.

"Although the FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant [sic], and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work, I believe it is important to update your Committees about our efforts in light of my previous testimony," Comey concluded. http://www.cnbc.com/2016/10/28/fbi-probing-new-clinton-emails.html

So the investigation will be reopened. Can't be good news fewer than two weeks before the election for the Clinton campaign, but I think it's good news for the nation.
 
The government has a long standing tradition of not messing with elections. The FBI wanted to arrest Nixon, and LBJ wouldn't let them.

I smell ambition.
 
I have a strong suspicion that the next President is going to be impeached, be it Hillary OR Trump.

Hahaha......from Comey, the guy that first recomended NOT to charge Clinton ??

Ill tell you whats REALLY happening. Theres a full on insurection happening in the FBI right now because of Comey's decicsion not to recomend charges.

It smells more to me like fear, based on the huge amount of public pressure because of not doing their jobs in the first place.
 
Comeys going to open up a closed investigation to checl and see if there was classified information ? He already said there was classified information but there was no " intent "

I think Comey thinks Trumps going to win and he's covering his ass

They already had something, but there was no " intent ", remember ? ( there was obviously intent )

So whats in the new Emails that would prove intent ? That may be what Comey's refering to.

I don't see how an insurrection at the FBI would have such an impact as to prompt Comey to do this. A previous posted stated that it was to cover his own ass in case Trump is elected, that seems to be more likely the case.
 
Comey better have some really damaging crap on Clinton or this is blatant interference with the political campaign since its manna from heaven for Trump and every Republican running right now.

This could kill Clinton if properly exploited.

Ruh-roh. (So much for the "the FBI is rigged!" claims; "they're blackmailing Comey!")

I think a lot of people don't understand the email situation. I know my family thought that having the server or using personal emails for state business was illegal. It wasn't. It was against policy, but not illegal (although I think those laws have been changed, now). It had been a standing practice for years for Secretaries of State to use personal email accounts to conduct State business, although the others (Condaleeza Rice & Colin Powell) had not had personal servers.

She's being investigated for the "intentional" release of classified/confidential information. Comey stated in his summation on tv for the public a while back that he recommended not prosecuting her because the number of emails, the number of "c" emails (many of which were rec'd, not sent, by Clinton), and the substance, didn't rise to the level of showing that it was intentional, although it was careless. The law required a finding of "intent."

A lot of people also don't seem to realize that it wasn't Comey's decision not to prosecute. It's the Attorney General's decision. The FBI merely makes a recommendation.

Now he seems to be saying that some more emails have come to light, which they have a duty to look into.

Not good for Clinton. And clearly shows that Comey is a professional and doing his job now, as he was doing before. If he again doesn't recommend prosecution, that doesn't mean he's on the take or being blackmailed, although I'm sure those same people will once again make that claim.

Wrong, Lynch said she would abide whatever recommendation Comey came up with so, in effect, she deferred to him.

I just checked DailyKos to make sure I got the intellectually evolved, unbiased and properly vetted story on this.

Turns out that this is a conspiracy to suppress the vote perpetrated by Comey, who is a Republican plant, and, in all likelihood, the Russians who have a vested interest in ....something.

Per usual, there's nothing to all this fuss and the right wing media, under Koch brothers control, is making unfounded allegations while completely misrepresenting the facts.
