Obama Whitehouse kept list of Muslim names for top jobs, excluded non-Muslims for these:

Obama Team Excluded Non-Muslims From Jobs | The Daily Caller

Obama Transition Team: Muslim Picks for Top Jobs Could Not Pass Careful Vetting | LifeZette

A 2008 email released by WikiLeaks on Monday appears to suggest that the Obama administration considered appointing Muslims to important administration positions who would have trouble passing vetting procedures — at least in the court of public opinion.

In the email, titled “Asian American Candidates, Muslim American Candidates,” future administration official Preeta D. Bansal, then a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, provided Michael B. Froman, a member of Obama’s transition team, with a list of potential Asian-Americans and Muslim-Americans for “top Administration jobs, sub-cabinet jobs, and outside boards/agencies/policy committees.”

As an Asian myself, I have to frankly say that I strongly oppose this kind of ethnic jury-rigging. These cabinet positions are meant to perform important duties - these aren't people going on a WSO tour - therefore the best person with the best talents should be selected for the role, irrespective of ethnicity, creed, or even political affiliation. The first black guy in the Whitehouse is now selecting people based primarily on their race - that's not a good development, nor a good message to be sending the country. Indeed, Obama's message unfortunately seems to be: RACE MATTERS. :(

Yet another Orwellian inversion from the Left - it's a chronic disease with them.

Obama doesn't appoint the most qualified. He's like the new-aged yogurt commercials. There needs to be a black man, a white man, a white girl, and Asian girl, and a mixed girl in them- all having fun together. Obama's cabinet is merely for people to think "wow, he's really diverse!". Then you examine it and you see through the history of his administration "wow, he's an idiot".

Binders full of Muslims.

There is zero indication, despite the Daily Caller's headline, that white people were excluded from anything. The administration had a list of potential minority candidates. Big ****ing deal.

Here's the original Wikileaks email link - forgot to post it:

https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/28660

and again, another leaked email shows that the administration is doing its work on behalf of the American people
casting a wide net to be inclusive in the hiring actions of the administration by identifying qualified individuals from an array of ethnicities and cultures
thanks Obama!

So you're defending quota-ism, whereby people's race/ethnicity is the main criteria for selection instead of their actual talent and qualifications. The Obama Whitehouse is shown nakedly discriminating in favor of "its own" - ie. its preferred ethnicities. The idea of a non-discriminatory society is to not have any preferred ethnicities for jobs. Obama's people clearly do - this is their politics and their values - and they are discriminatory.

Who said anything about white folks?

As big a deal as it was for Romney to has lists of female candidates. Which apparently was a huge deal for some reason.

Discrimination is the new inclusive?

and you expose your ignorance of the hiring/appointment process
identifying qualified individuals from an aray of ethnicities and cultures enables the administration to select those who are most qualified among a wider cohort, rather than those who are most qualified within a smaller cohort
it is intentionally NOT discriminatory as it is inclusive rather than exclusive

Not to me. I think it was the phrasing more than anything.

Identifying minority candidates = "quotaism"???

Identifying minority candidates = "quotaism"???
*typed with feigned outrage*
how dare the administration be inclusive in its appointments

There's no White Muslims?

Look at the goddamn email - they excluded George Mitchell because he's got Arab heritage but he's not Muslim. Why identify people primarily by their ethnicity, instead of just identifying them for their talent IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR ETHNICITY? That's supposed to be the definition of a color-blind society. Instead we have this Orwellian Socialist reinterpretation based on political opportunism, which says that "in order to not discriminate, you must discriminate".

ie. "All Animals Are Equal, But Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others"

If it sounds contradictory, that's because it is. Such a farce.

It comes off as phony.

Nothing in that list indicated race/ethnicity was the "main" criteria. And the email chain shows no "discrimination" at all. Who of those on the list were even appointed to positions? Have you compared their qualifications with those who weren't but applied or were considered?

And political appointments are.....shockingly....POLITICAL!! They have been since the dawn of civilization, and certainly since the founding of this country. If not race/ethnicity, they'd be picking them because they ARE a big donor, or are close to a big donor or other important supporter, someone whose support the admin needs recommended their first cousin on his wife's side, etc................. I'd guess exactly none of the big jobs are awarded without some political consideration or another.

To be honest, these email releases have been a big time bust for the most part, and we know this because evidence of politicians considering politics when making political appointments is about as ordinary a thing as it's possible to unearth. When people writing about the releases have to go that far into the barrel to find something to talk about, you know it's thin pickings.

Why else would a 3 year Senator with the worst absentee record in the nation be nominated and elected President? Because RACE MATTERS.

Are you unveiling your new strategy for dealing with WikiLeaks?

First it was "its unethical"
Then it was "its a forgery"
And finally, it's "Big ****ing deal".

The DNC must have put out a new newsletter.

Yes, those were his qualifications because obviously a BLACK man couldn't win that office on the merits.... Sheesh, what does it say about McCain and Romney that the BLACK man kicked their asses?

I thought we covered this, but OK...... RACE MATTERS.

Sure, race matters. For most of our history the only race considered as POTUS was WHITE. Also too, gender and religion matter, which is why they all before Obama were Christian men. So do looks, connections, what your wife looks like, who your daddy is, what state you're from, how you speak on camera, and a ton of other factors not directly related to qualifications for POTUS.

And it's quite ignorant to assume that Obama got elected because he's black. I'm sure some people voted for him because he's black, others didn't because he's black. Similarly, Bush was elected in part because he's white, male and Christian, which is who the majority of the country are most comfortable in the role as POTUS, and Bush played as a Southern boy, and because his daddy was POTUS and had name recognition. Point is lots of things matter, and you're ignoring them all except for Obama's race. He was also elected because he's very bright, assembled a better team than first Hillary, then McCain, and ran a better campaign, and is an outstanding and motivating speaker with loads of charisma.
