GUANTANAMO BAY NAVY BASE, CUBA
An alleged accomplice in the Sept. 11 terror attacks underwent reconstructive surgery for decade-old damage from his “sodomy” in CIA custody and was to be returned to his clandestine prison to recuperate, his attorney said Saturday.

“All they said is there was minimal bleeding and he is recovering,” attorney Walter Ruiz, a Navy Reserve commander, said Saturday morning.

An unclassified portion of the Senate Intelligence Committee’s investigation of the CIA’s Black Site program showed allegations that Hawsawi was subjected to rectal exams with “excessive force” before his 2006 transfer to Guantánamo and that at one point he had a “medical emergency” that the agency considered having treated in a foreign hospital.

Prisoners shouldn't be tortured or degraded like that. However, I suspect, our lefties will complain more about this than say ISIS burning some Yemeni Pilot alive or all "honor killings" jihadists perpetrate on women etc

No I didn't. its called perspective. The USA isn't perfect (BTW why didn't Obama close GITMO as he promised) when it comes to the treatment of POWs or terrorists but we sure are better than the other side.

and in the overall balance, the USA is far better than the opposition. I don't recall the government stoning Homosexuals, bring captured combatants alive or condoning battery acid thrown in the face of girls who spurn the sexual advances of predatory men

why would they be ashamed, they are terrorists with a different mind set

don't wait for them to be ashamed

we however know that torture rarely if ever works in the way we need it to, thus we need to up our standards and not use the "but" (no pun intended) or the however

once we lose our humanity we are right there alongside them

They should have executed him a long time ago along with almost all the prisoners there. They shouldn't have been kept for so long because any information they may have had is long passed expired.

I dont know...I tend to take folk seriously when they use words like 'we' and 'our'...so I'm guessing he was the perpetrator.

It is possible that it was rectal exams that caused the problem. I tend to believe that most of the allegations are not true as presented, however. Each incident should be examined and prosecuted, where American personnel acted illegally. That is clear. But from what has been presented so far, there seems little reason to think that many incidents of crime occurred.
