Donald Trump appeared to use his foundation to launch his presidential campaign ambitions, according to filings analyzed by RealClearPolitics.

From 2011 to 2014, Trump sent at least $286,000 to conservative or policy groups. The contributions corresponded to speaking engagements and endorsements as Trump cast himself as a potential presidential candidate, according to the analysis. If the contributions were solely to benefit Trump, they could be in violation of IRS laws that prohibit private foundations from self-dealing.

For my source, I used Newsmax, which is a very Conservative publication. But maybe I should not have said where the link comes from, and instead let the Trump supporters attack the source. Would have been much more fun.

The actual source of the information is a report by Real Clear Politics as provided in the quote.
And that actual source says "Filings Suggest". Suggests, not "Trump Used...".

Paraphrasing: might have, could have, and if he did then... Wow, what a damning assault.

Now quoting with added parenthetical notes by me: one source said (Who's the source? A Clinton staffer?)...examples that appear to show (Appear? Like the Jesus faces on toast?)...If what he talked about (Anyone asking what Hillary talked about when she got paid hundreds of thousands?)...One source with Trump ties told (What ties? The ones he sells in the gift shop?)...If the contributions were (If? If a frog had wings he wouldn't bust his ass when he jumps)...

Show me the evidence, not the innuendo.

Clinton probably used TCF money to pay for her campaign.

Can't stand the heat? Get out of the kitchen.

I see you just deflected again, and rather poorly. Care to address the topic.

The topic is innuendo about a presidential candidate. I can play that game.

Trump Used Foundation Funds for 2016 Run, Filings Suggest

From 2011 through 2014, Trump harnessed his eponymous foundation to send at least $286,000 to influential conservative or policy groups, a RealClearPolitics review of the foundation’s tax filings found. In many cases, this flow of money corresponded to prime speaking slots or endorsements that aided Trump as he sought to recast himself as a plausible Republican candidate for president.

Although sources familiar with the thinking behind the donations cautioned that Trump did not explicitly ask for favors in return for the money, they said the contributions were part of a deliberate effort by Trump to ingratiate himself with influential conservatives and brighten his political prospects. ………….

……..The lion’s share of those donations came from Trump’s personal funds and went straight to political campaigns or parties. But others, in particular those directed to the nonprofit arms of conservative policy groups, originated with Trump’s foundation………………

……..The donations to groups that granted Trump plum speaking slots or otherwise promoted his political aspirations also might run afoul of self-dealing rules for private foundations, which prohibit a foundation’s leadership from using donor money for its own gain………….

Win or lose Humpsty Trumpsty seem to have fallen off the wall…………..

Man if only the Hillary Derangement Syndrome crowd would apply this standard

:) I heard a while back that the Trump Site had a weird thing about it - if you signed up for recurring donations, there was no way to ever turn them off. :) Funny, that.

Sadly, I've only found one truly effective way of turning off recurring charges when you're dealing with a company that isn't as customer-friendly as places like Amazon: cancel the card and get a new one.
