"(CNSNews.com) - The Obama White House may designate certain state voting systems as "pieces of critical infrastructure," which would give federal technology experts "more of a role in assisting the administrators of those networks as they deter intrusions," White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters on Monday."

Certain state voting systems? Right. And, the hackers will be there to "assist the administrators...as they deter intrusions." Right.

So, if the king puts his hackers in place in swing states and the Democrat wins those swing states, do you think anyone will possibly be suspicious. The king doesn't. I do.

But, the king is also passing a climate treaty which only the Senate can do. Oh, it is so much more convenient having a king, a tyrant, instead of a tripart system with checks and balanced. An unchecked and unbalanced king is wonderful.

And in a few weeks voters will be selecting a new king. Both candidates of the leading parties dream of being king or queen.

A step backwards would be real progress. Paper ballots and paper ballot trails. Unless, of course, you believe that someone from the government is here to help you?

No effing way!

The FedGov doesn't have much of a track record on cyber security. The IRS got hacked and when the OMB got hacked they got info on EVERY federal employee.

We still use paper ballots in AZ but what they're concerned with is issues after that data goes into the digital systems.

I agree. And much stricter control of absentee ballots but the Democrats are pushing to have all absentee ballots. We should vote on a Sunday or vote on a Wednesday that is a mandatory holiday for all businesses and non-essential government work, which would be most of it. Neighborhood precincts shouldn't be manned by partisan hacks for voting but by neighbors drawn by lottery. Everyone should have a free voter ID card provided by the state.

And the last thing we need are Democrat operatives planted in state election systems.

Their incompetence is unquestioned are their ethics. I wonder where these "security" experts would come from? NSA?

We use paper ballots as well, then each voter feeds his/her own completed ballot into a scanner which tabulates the totals and sends the electronic results for that precinct into the county board of elections computer, which tabulates those precinct reports, and sends that tabulated county electronic report to the state board elections computer system in Raleigh.

What could possibly go wrong?

The fix is in.

And the ground work for the upcoming excuses by the Trumpbots has officially begun.

Re: Hackers in Place

I have the perfect idea for preventing hackers from gaining access to voting computers. And its REVOLUTIONARY!

Don't hook up the damn machine to the internet. Don't even let it have the capability to connect to anything except a power outlet and a printer (which is also not capable of wireless transmissions).

At the end of the day the computer can tabulate the outcomes and then it can be phoned in to the proper place. Where its all totaled together on paper.

How cute. Stupid, but cute. Here we have the official meme from the Royal Palace. Me, I'm not a Trumpkin. I'm also not a Clintonista. I don't want a king, a dictator or a savior.

So, how do you justify the federal government planting "security experts" in voting systems? Or, would you rather continue to whine?

Funny, I thought it was Obama that was concerned about these hacking attempts. Don't recall anywhere in the article where it mentions Trump or Trump Supporters. And the OP is actually dissing both candidates in that last line so can't really say he's making any excuses for Trump.

Re: Hackers in Place

It's really not about "who" but "how"? I say keep it off the internet. Have a system that is not connected. Period.

I would be inclined to use encrypted flash drives, one on each machine. Then each flash drive is physically transferred to a aggregating facility that is not connected to an external internet.

You would still have the paper ballots. At least in California anyway.

It will take longer, but it used to take a lot longer. We may have to pay that price to prevent wholesale fraud.

Plus, it would grant access to Fed 'experts' to do who knows what to these systems.

Re: Hackers in Place

Is it too late to attach a poll? Probably. My mistake.

Re: Hackers in Place

These people will do anything to convince themselves they didn't really lose. It's not really that America doesn't want to elect an orange baby president. They cheated! That's the only explanation! Let's run with this insanity again in 2020!

Election security is important so additional oversight is valuable. That's how I justify it.

Re: Hackers in Place

The country should hire John McAfee to oversee this coming election. True story.

Election security is important but not to the Democrats. "Vote early and vote often," is the slogan they laugh about but it's no joke. "Resurrection Day" when the dead rise up and go to the polls is also no joke. President Obama spent $800,000 to pay ACORN to help him get elected. That's no joke. Melowese Richardson is no joke but her amazingly short prison sentence was.

Sorry, for this administration to say they want to insure election security is totally transparent. Perhaps it's the transparency we were promised.

Re: Hackers in Place

The elections have appeared suspicious since Diebold's first election. I don't trust Corporate ownership and oversight on matters of such extreme importance. I remember exit polls had GWBush losing by 6% and then he won by 2%. That disparity was too extreme and nothing was investigated. Election Day software updates? What's that about? Paper ballots and paper trails are the only "people centric" solution.

Well said. The cornerstone of our system is the vote of he American people and that should never be turned over to a private corporation.

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize this was a conspiracy theory thread.

Sorry reality seems like a conspiracy. I suppose you also believe Barack Obama respects Americans, the Persians are honoring their agreements, and Cuba will be our ally.

Please point out the Presidential election that was in the least bit effected by any voter fraud.
