I have no problem with students who mention God. Teaching religion is a different matter entirely and I believe that religious teaching is better suited to a member of a (Christian) church who teaches in a church.

If they are doing it after school hours or during club time then well there is nothing the school can do.
If the school rents their building out to other public companies then they have to rent it out to a church as well if they would like to use it.

Nobody has discriminated against the religious. Either they allow this satanist club or they don't allow anyone, that's how equal protection works. You do not have a constitutional right to hold club meetings in government buildings, you only have a right to be religious and exercise your religion therein. Can I form a club at the local court house and have meetings there after hours? Is that my RIGHT and if they deny it they're pissing on the constitution?

You do not need a deity to get rights, and YOU are not the judge of who's a true believer or not. Where did you get this ridiculous notion that there are no atheistic religions? Are you saying Buddhism and many sects of Taoism aren't religions because they don't have a deity?

Luckily we don't live in a society where you have to make up an imaginary friend to get rights. They have every right the christians do.

Before we get too caught up in the form of "rights", let's not forget the substantive reality that Satanists have been known to meet secretly, conduct rituals that include killing animals, emotionally, physically, and sexually abusing children .. and killing babies.

There are books and former member testimony that substantiates the truth of this.

These activities still exist today .. and I argue that they can't be protected under the First Amendment.

If this Utah group wants to publicly affiliate with satanists, it doesn't matter what their website professes overtly if their covert goal is to obtain more membership for abhorrent behaviors.

They would do well to disband .. before some un-recovered satanist-abuse victim comes a marching their way.

If it is a school club organization they have every right to use the building. If there isn't a Satanist school club then no they don't. pretty simple.
If they are allowing other clubs to use the court house then yes they can.

Nowhere in the first amendment does it say you have a right to force YOUR religion into a public school. You can be religious, pray, and do whatever you want in school, you can't try to force it on anyone else or make it part of the curriculum.

Too many of the people who make the most noise about "religious freedom" only mean to refer to their religion. Ask them to share space with another religion, especially one they personally dislike, and the hypocrisy explodes.
