Obama, you stupid ****ing child.

In a development that has largely been missed by mainstream media, the Pentagon early last month quietly declassified a Department of Defense top-secret document detailing Israel's nuclear program, a highly covert topic that Israel has never formally announced to avoid a regional nuclear arms race, and which the US until now has respected by remaining silent.

But by publishing the declassified document from 1987, the US reportedly breached the silent agreement to keep quiet on Israel's nuclear powers for the first time ever, detailing the nuclear program in great depth.

The timing of the revelation is highly suspect, given that it came as]tensions spiraled out of control between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama ahead of Netanyahu's March 3 address in Congress, in which he warned against the dangers of Iran's nuclear program and how the deal being formed on that program leaves the Islamic regime with nuclear breakout capabilities....

Really? You get butthurt because you're not the center of the Israeli universe and so you pull this?

Thanks, dickweed. Thank you for lowering the quality of American partnership all over the world. Everyone is going to rush to share information with us now that they know that as soon as you don't think you're the prettiest little girl in class that you're going to spill the beans as a way of passively aggressively getting back at others.

Geeze. even for this administration, this was petulant.

/facepalm

Yeah, I've got to agree. This was an act of stupid so monumental it deserves its own Mt. Rushmore. :(

I'm livid. I can get policy decisions I think are bad - you think that X will work, I disagree, you do it anyway, hey, you were trying to do what you thought was the right thing.

But this was just....

There isn't an excuse for this among mature nations. This is 13-year-old-girl-mad-at-her-boyfriend crap, and it's going to **** us.

:doh

You can't have a global CT strategy based on leveraging local partners, publicly betray one of those partners, and then expect all the others to trust you, numb-nuts!

Obama, you stupid ****ing child.

Finally, something we can agree on, but I wouldn't call him a stupid child or any of the other slurs that are unneeded.

ooooh schoolgirl drama!

That takes me back about a year or two...

It's considerably more than that, Luft. The fallout from this could be global, and not in a good way.

He is what he repeatedly does, if I may modify my Aristotle. He act like a petulant little brat, he gets called a petulant little brat.

The guy just ****ed over one major alliance and put a bunch of others at risk of degradation because he wasn't treated like he was special. What would you call that?

Then bush was an idiot child who invaded the wrong country to, but I don't resort to unnecessary name calling and comparisons.

I didn't ask what you called bush, I asked what you would call ****ing over a major CT ally and partner-nation and putting all our other partnerships at risk of degradation over the fact that you aren't treated like you are as special as you think you are. What would you call that behavior? Would you say that does not meet the definition of petulant and childish?

Honestly, I'm not too worried about this. I'll just wait to see what comes of it.

"****ing over?" Really? The stunning revelation that Israel has a nuclear weapons program harms them that severely does it?

How is this surprising news for anyone???

No, it is us releasing our classified information on it that severely damages our relationship with Israel and with other partner nations upon whose information sharing and combined action we depend because it demonstrates we can't be trusted.

Let us say that you own a business, a partnership. And let us say that your partner uses his access to steal your identity, and buys a bunch of crap with your credit, but not enough to utterly destroy your finances. And let us say that he manages to do so in such a way that he can't be prosecuted for it. Are you going to stay in a business partnership with him?

How is this surprising news for anyone???

It is surprising because even those of us who thought the administration was somewhat petulant when it came to political opposition would not have thought they would pull a stunt like this.

Releasing something that confirms what we all knew? Responding a petty political action with a petty political action? That is surprising?

Especially considering that all Republican Presidents have supported the premise of Israel following International Law.
Whether that be on nukes, spying, 1967 borders, or the two-state solution.

I'm sick and tired of American blood and treasure being wasted on an Israel that bald-face lies to us.
An Israel that has spied on us since the Reagan administration with Pollard.

But heh, the GOP sees an opening to the Jewish-American vote and will continue their sabotage of Obama on the world stage until he's gone .

Yes. The fact that we would break trust with an ally like this is indeed surprising.

It's not the program, DS, it's that we leaked it. Demonstrating that we cannot be trusted to protect classified information that is shared with us from our partner nations sort of kind of damages our ability to have partnerships. We have CT relationships that we depend on all over the globe, and this move damages our credibility in each one of them.

Sure does make those billions we send Israel every year, and our almost perpetual support, even against the entire UN, seem insignificant.

Let me know when Obama actually does something against Israel next time k?

It's considerably more than that, Luft. The fallout from this could be global, and not in a good way.

You mean the biggest NON-Secret ever? Israel's program was outed when it was working with France in the 50s and 60s and then South Africa in the 70s and 80s in developing South Africa nuke program. The british paper The Guardian in 2010 outed the program.

Greetings, DiAnna. :2wave:

:agree: And what bothers me is that it is being deliberately done, damn the future consequences to the global community. Whose orders is BHO following, because even his arrogance is not that large to think he's doing the right thing, against most advice to the contrary, by caving to those that chant "Death to America!" - could it be, or doesn't he care about the fallout? It only took one nut to start what became WWI, but they didn't have nuclear weapons to turn our planet into a cinder, either! :scared:

But the point was it really wasnt classified... Literally everyone know this info.. If anything this just confirms what everyone already knew, Israel moved forward with a hydrogen and nuclear program in the 80's... If anything just confirms history... Like I said petty action of coming to undermine current negotiations, responded by petty action of releasing classified documents. Petty action for petty action.

See post above. You have a social security number and a bank account number and a routing number? Excellent. Please post it, along with your real name.

After all, everyone already knows you have them, right?

This isn't small-ball. This is serious. When you demonstrate that partner nations can't trust you with their classified information, that means they will reduce what they give to you. This is going to harm our ongoing relationships not just in the ME (although it will certainly, there), but globally.

It's not the information - it's the breach of trust and the demonstration that we are willing to trash our relationships over petty BS.

Greetings, NIMBY. :2wave:

Every Democrat President has also supported Israel, following the same International Law, NIMBY - until this one. And we in turn have also done our share of spying all along, too. That is what politics became somewhere along the line. sad to say. We little people have had no say, and look at how things are today. We are only useful because we pay all the damn bills!

I'm actually totally cool with this. I mean, everyone knew that Israel had nuclear weapons, even if they didn't officially acknowledge it and now we have 100% proof.

Yes. The fact that we would break trust with an ally like this is indeed surprising.
Isreal has broken our trust and spit in our face multiple times yet you are willing to somehow let all that pass and yet get all upset when we just declassify a few documents?
