Most Kurds show great respect for President Obama, but it’s the name Bush that generates a larger salute. Some are even preparing to get behind possible candidate Jeb Bush in the 2016 presidential elections

I am glad to hear about something good that has come out of the war and I hope someday the Kurds are able to get the independence they deserve after being stuck in the middle of such an unstable area.

By all means then, lets spend some dollars and perhaps some lives defending the Kurds from everyone they do not get along with. Like, Turkey.

We really do not ever learn do we?

No one said we needed to act as if we are alone in the world, but we should stop acting like everyone should do as we would want them to. That position does not make me left wing.

I remember when the enemy of the Soviets were America's welcome friends. Until they re-emerged a few years later as Al-Qaeda

Kurds just negotiated an oil deal with Baghdad. This is interesting in that it's NOT a call for independent Kurdistan
Kurdish Officials Seek to Reset Relations With Baghdad - WSJ
Negotiations between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government have revived in recent weeks, amid heavy U.S. diplomatic pressure to patch up the decadeslong political dispute that has seen the Kurds press for more control over the immense oil resources in traditional Kurdish lands inside Iraq.

In a letter read aloud Wednesday at the start of an energy conference in London, Kurdish Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani declined to make the Kurdish traditional appeal for outright independence. Instead, he made an appeal for accommodation with Baghdad, saying in the letter that he felt the new government there had “pressed the reset button” with the KRG

Since I don't know you and your responses sound like a lefty and can only surmise that is what you are. We basically only supply weapons to the Kurds

No, not only is that not all we do now but we have done plenty else over the years as well. You and I both know that.

Yup. If we just stop our military interventions and manipulations everybody would love us.
