John McCain CIA Torture Report Senate Speech

I think that if you are someone who is loudly and proudly for torture then they step up and walk the talk.

Several journalists did the waterboarding, changed their opinions. Hannity....as usual, all talk and no balls.

I'm never gonna have an abortion...not my call, and not gonna let you thread drift.

I strongly believe in a lot of rights and actions that I'd never consider exercising or taking myself. To suggest you're not a man if you don't experience what you support is just so much nonsense. I'm guessing you support drones - care to be a target, big man?

I'm sure you'll have this response for those who fear the government coming to take their guns? After all, it is a rough world and we can't have anyone threatening our security.

War is war. Revolution is revolution. When the time comes I believe there will be plenty of real torture to go around.

Minute 8... is amazing...

Revolution is war. Do you think the British colonies just had tea with the British? Jesus...

I do not find it surprising that you are unable to distinguish between enemy terrorists and US citizen gun owners. No doubt both are the same in your mind.

War is external. Revolution is internal. I am happy to hold your hand as an additional service at no additional charge.

Liberals reject the notion that the USA is better because "God blessed us with his bounty." Liberals used to think that the USA was better than almost every other country because of our respect for the value of freedom, justice and human rights for all people.

"Used to"? And now?

John McCain is a bed wetter??? I bet he has no idea what torture is either.

Actually, he does, being a POW for several years. I may not agree with him on everything but he's sure earned the right to be heard.

(I'm one of the few people that actually likes John McCain)

What is the difference?

Civil war is war, Revolution is war, war in defense of your nation is war, attacking another country is war. It's all war.

Same, as much as I often disagree with him. He's as close to an honest player as you get at that level.

Sorry, it's a rough world, sometimes you gotta do rough things and our torture is extremely, meant to give the impression that we're capable of so much more without causing any lasting damage or even any real physical harm.

No lasting damage?

And of course you are perfectly OK with the idea that two administrations in a row have been lying but you have no fear that mistakes are made, that innocent people are not harmed.

Ever heard of "renditioning?" Maybe some research is in order before so cavalierly dismissing all torture by the CIA and have a look at a character named Mahar Arar.....

He did not commit treason today as Feinstein did. But he hugged her and gave her a sloppy kiss.

Fine, I'll stick my face in the water tomorrow when I'm shaving.

Great. Can I assume you'll keep your opinions to yourself regarding cops and anything military or shoot, gun control? Afterall, if you haven't been shot, you should get no say.

Here is something very interesting CJ:

Americans Have Grown More Supportive Of Torture

Americans Have Grown More Supportive Of Torture | FiveThirtyEight

Good evening Pero - thanks for sharing that. I'm not surprised because I believe people's views of what is happening in the world today and what needs to be done to counter it are ever changing. It also doesn't surprise me because of the support Americans have had for the use of drones and the seemingly unaffected view many have of the innocents who die as "collateral damage" by such attacks. These days, the bottom line outcome is more important because failure can lead to unthinkable consequences.

I stopped voting Republican when Bush led us to a war in Iraq based on lies. Since then, I have voted only for Libertarians..... Except for one time. That was in 2008, when I voted for John McCain, who IMHO, is willing to put party politics aside and call a spade a spade.

This video, of McCain's speech, made on the Senate floor today, is a must watch, for John McCain, in his harsh criticism of his own party, represents the conscience of America, and is a Republican I would vote for again. There should be no Republicans or Democrats, but Americans who stand for American ideals, and torture is certainly not one of them.

Give 'em hell, John.

I supported McCain in 2000 and voted for him in 2008, but he's wrong about this.

I would say this was clearly giving aid and comfort to our enemies. She has confessed in open, before the microphones.

Do you believe George Washington was treasonous when he said:

"Should any American soldier be so base and infamous as to injure any [prisoner]. . . I do most earnestly enjoin you to bring him to such severe and exemplary punishment as the enormity of the crime may require. Should it extend to death itself, it will not be disproportional to its guilt at such a time and in such a cause... for by such conduct they bring shame, disgrace and ruin to themselves and their country."
-- George Washington, charge to the Northern Expeditionary Force, Sept. 14, 1775

"Not everyone was a bed wetter then. I am pretty sure we have really tortured people in past wars. These days we just disorient them, make them uncomfortable, and ask them politely to cooperate."
John McCain is a bed wetter??? I bet he has no idea what torture is either.
What?

McCain had no choice in the matter. All of you who whine about making our enemies uncomfortable are the bedwetters. McCain is just a cranky old man standing with the treasonous democrats.

Failure could always lead to unthinkable consequences. Back WWII we never gave collateral damage a thought when we fire bombed Dresden and Tokyo. We were at war and we will fighting to win that war. I think if one enters or goes to war, then one needs to use whatever means are available to win it. If you are unwilling to do that, stay home and do not go to war.

No, no, that you're able to determine which rights a person has by whether they're a citizen or not is what is in question here. It's obvious you don't believe in that inalienable rights shtick, so there goes the second amendment. If we're to go by your cavalier attitude on this issue. Nice :spin: though, I almost fell for it.
