Ferguson Protesters Chain Mall Exits Shut

Perhaps these people feel that these protests are the only thing they have left to turn to since they believe that the justice system was rigged.
They might indeed feel that way... which I do not believe, but I digress... but if they do, they're wrong. They can become part of the process if they want to effect change bad enough.

How many of them vote? I'd bet very few. Voting is the base level of active participation.

They're also failing in another way: PR. If you think you're going to cause me to stop and consider your issue by making my life difficult, you are an idiot. No, all you're going to do is piss me off, and at that point I flat-out don't care what your issue is.

My last point was more for discussion considerations, as I really don't think most of the "protesters" cared about anything other than causing trouble.

Perhaps these people feel that these protests are the only thing they have left to turn to since they believe that the justice system was rigged.

Protests are fine. It's when you get into people getting hurt or potentially hurt that there's a problem.

It wasn't that long ago that on my way to Target I drove through a protest against Israel's actions in Palestine. Nobody accosted me, and I didn't have to hit anybody with my car. No harm, no foul.

Perhaps these people feel that these protests are the only thing they have left to turn to since they believe that the justice system was rigged.
Perhaps people that believe that three independent autopsies (including the one commissioned by Browns family and that support the officer and corroborate witnesses testimony regarding the incident AS WELL AS prove that the people that claim Brown was assasinated, executed, shot with his hands up, and other assorted bull**** lies) was somehow unfair, arent all that interested in 'the justice system'.

That's a conversation for a different thread. Emmett Till's story shouldn't even be uttered in the same breath as Michael Brown's story, and I can't believe anyone would even attempt to correlate them, or to imply that the rioters, looters and even the protestors today "remember" Emmett Till.

Remember? Hell, most of 'em couldn't even spell Emmett Till if their lives depended on it.

Ah ... maybe so.
But I say their recollection is quite good for slogans and gestures they've heard and seen recently.
Yet I'd wager you couldn't find a handful who actually read the G.J. testimony.
Why? Because it just doesn't matter to 'em.
Nevertheless I haven't seen anyone ask any of them yet.

One other thing ... you'd think normally a person would get pissed at anyone who's too obviously trying to play on their ignorance or predispositions.
If they don't, it's because the excuse is welcome.

That is not the grievance being protested.

What is being protested is the justice system being rigged in favor of the cop, who told a story that turned a delinquent guilty of petty theft into some sort of beast. Wilson says that he heard brown was grunting like some aggressive animal. That sort of description paints the picture of events unfairly.

Then there was all that undeniable physical evidence that backed up the officer's statement 100%, but that's OK, you can ignore little things like truth and facts in order to perpetuate your dream of hate.

That's the way it works. If you can find someone to justify what you want to do anyway, the veneer of justification has been provided. I think you're right. The rest of it doesn't matter anyway. Michael Brown already received all the justice he's going to get, and the rest are just pissing on his grave for their own perceived benefit. The usual suspects have all shown up to cash in on the unrest they helped fuel.

I posted this in another thread....in 2011, "40 people killed by law enforcement officers in NYC. 44% of those shot were white (15% of white people shot were in posession of a firearm). 33% of those shot were Hispanic. 22% (9 people) were black (56% of black people were in posession of a firearm."

40 people shot in over 23,000,000 civilian contacts with 28,075 arrests involving criminal possession of and/or use of a firearm.

Now...I'm not going to speak for 'white people' or 'black people' but I will say that from MY perspective...the reason I'm not upset when a white guy is shot by cops is because I tend to believe that in the VAST majority of cases, they deserve to be shot. Considering the statistics and the fact that blacks represent 23% of the population but a vast majority of ALL violent crimes and 80% of the perpetrators of violent criminal acts against blacks in NYC, its hard to get too spun up about the numbers.

Again...its one thing where there is a case of abuse. But hanging your cause on EVERY incident just makes your cause look foolish.

So if the people of New York had a protest about these people being shot, would they be automatically wrong?

56% of black people were in posession of a firearm
.

I see nothing wrong with black people making use of their Second Amendment rights.

If they had a protest based on all of them, yes. If there is an acutal case involving an inappropriate shooting that was mishandled by the department and they created a nationwide disturbance while ignoring the fact that there was 1 or maybe 2 incidents out of 23,000,000 that MAY have been mishandled...yeah...they would probably still be cause driven ****heads and automatically wrong. But your question proves the point. You dont care about the 318 dead black people at the hands of black people, or about the 23,000,000 contacts with civilians...you want to find a way to justify riots over cases which you know absolutely nothing about and can only speak in vague generalities about because...oh yeah...you know NOTHING about them...but somehow, that 'proves' there is a 'problem' and worthy of 'protests'.

You're not upset because it does not present a threat to whites collectively.

That's not about how the police treat people. I care about how the government treats people.

Just wrong. I'm sorry, but even if you think the grand jury was wrong, it's unlikely that these people in Seattle were on that grand jury. They have nothing to do with it.

There are much better outlets for those who believe that the shooting of a strong-armed Black thug trying to kill people was unjust.

Instead of pointless marching, rioting and chaining doors shut, I'd recommed each person sitting on a streetconer getting a can of gas and...

Why do you capitalize black, why even mention it?

How dare that person make a political statement like that? Flames and smoke in the road are a terrible inconvenience to people.

You see, this is my own form of protest ---because----every single liberal news source always, always, always phrase Michael Brown as "an unarmed Black teenager" (with the added) "shot by a White police officer."

Then I'd advise sitting further back from the street and not wearing shoes with rubber soles that create more smoke.

Actions like this should not be seen in the light of being a protest and excused.

They should be prosecuted for what they are, kidnapping in a group and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

That's pertinent to the overall story but not to your claim. Capitalizing white and black is racist.

Maybe people are going to start buying more old cars that had real chrome bumpers to push through the protesters.

So fools with any foolish belief ought to be able to do fool things? Sounds like a prescription for societal meltdown.

That so? Why bother telling a peon such as myself. You should be writing all the lib new agencies who capitalize on this very thing to complain.

If you live near Ferguson protests, you should grab a bullhorn, paint a large sign and demand the blacks doing the protesting to "Stop being black racists."

Wait....you are not seriously trying to connect the Michael Brown case with Emmett Till, or insinuating that the rioters "remember" Emmett Till? Emmett Till was killed in 1955, almost 60 years ago. Anyone who would be old enough to remember Emmett Till would be in their 80s today. They are not the idiots who are looting and robbing, and in fact, I haven't seen anyone near that age in the protestors that we see on the news.

Emmett Till was killed because he was a black teenager who didn't act according to the codes of society. He was hunted down and brutally murdered by 2 white men. The justice system totally failed him. There isn't a single correlation between Emmett Till's story and Michael Brown's story except that each dead teenager was black and the person/persons responsible for the death was white. And nobody looted and robbed anyone after Till's killers were acquitted.

It is an incredible and ridiculous leap to attempt to connect those 2 cases in any way, not to mention it is disrespectful to the memory and friends and family of Till to compare him in any way to Brown's case.

I can not read minds so I don't know what the protestors are thinking.

I agree that Trying to compare brown to Emmett till as individual people is like trying to compare a dolphin with a shark.

I am saying that is what I think the protestors are afraid of: they believe that the St. Louis justice system failed them in such a way that they see the nightmarish form of the justice system that failed Emmett till.

Fear, anger, and Grief make people blind to reason.

The St. Louis justice system failed "them"? Nonsense. The only argument you could make, however wrong it is, is that it failed Michael Brown and by extension, his family and friends. The rioters and looters are owed nothing as a result of the shooting of Michael Brown, anymore than I am owed anything by the St. Louis justice system as a result of the shooting of Michael Brown.

No, it doesn't.

Brown's side was represented as well.

Just because you didn't get the outcome you wanted doesn't mean that the system is rigged.
