AS AL SHARPTON rose, SO DID HIS UNPAID TAXES...New York Times

Sharpton should pay his taxes just like every other responsible citizen. He is, after all, benefiting from all the public works that are paid by those taxes, and he needs to own up to his fair share, just like all the rest of us. No exceptions.

I've been reading through this thread to find a post that's completely on topic to respond to. Thanks for providing one.

I don't like hypocrisy, and Sharpton has epitomized it here. This is the same asshole who accused Romney of not paying taxes for 10 years while at Bain (along with a few other assholes who made the same accusation).

I agree, the rich should be made to pay their fair share like the rest of us. Ain't it great when ideologies agree?

Of course, this runs right into the discussion as to what exactly does 'fair share' mean in each of these cases. But yes, everyone's shoulder should be on the common wheel, pushing.

It get's worse. Far worse than just Sharpton.

All these 'Hope and Change' guys. All these 'pay their fair share' guys. How rather liberal / progressive of them.
I'm guessing it applies to everyone except themselves, which would be typical wouldn't it?

So please tell me again, how it's the 1%'s that aren't paying their fair share? Aren't these guys all 1%ers?

I wonder if Joe Biden reminds all these aides and staffers that they are not patriotic?

It seems like just about every rich person has skeletons like this in their closets. They all cheat in order to get where they are.

Really? They ALL cheat? Earning what they have through hard work and/or ingenuity makes every damn rich person a crook? What the hell does that make all the freeloading, lazy ass government teat suckers? You know, those bums that live off we taxpayers?

No, what you agree to is that the "rich" should pay your way through life. It doesn't work like that in America buddy. The "rich" pay over half of the taxes in this country already. We peons pay what's left of tax money. Except for the rich scammers like Al Sharpton.

... What an interesting position to take. Do you believe multiple women have been filling out police reports and claiming he assaulted them for decades because of political views he expressed 8-9 years ago at best?

Nearly every single allegation came out after his "pound cake" speech. I only know of one person that came forward prior to that speech.

Same man who preaches about the wealthy not paying enough taxes.

Yet, MSNBC marches on with him.

If that's what helps you look in the mirror.

Sharpton is a crooked weasel.

It's amazing that ALL THESE YEARS have come and gone and these bitches are JUST now coming out of their creepy domains in droves. If that **** isn't political, I'll kiss both of your cheeks. Don't screw a celebrity willingly and then wait 15 or 20 years to come forward. Cosby is the only celebrity black that had the guts to speak up about the way the younger black generation is ****ing this country up but royal. And we can thank their parents er, lack of parenting for that.

He ran for office. That makes him a politician.

Hey apdst, I wrote my name in on the ballot the last couple elections. Am I now considered a politician?

people had come out previously. It's just that the media didn't report on it with zeal we see today. He was an outspoken critic of issues that the liberal press supported. So long as he carries their water, they will carry his.

~ just a conspiracy theory of course

The lack of connection in those two sentences is obvious. If someone came forward before the speech, then why does it matter that people also came forward after? Either way, there were other people who cam forward before the speech.

Pound Cake speech - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pound Cake speech was given by Bill Cosby in May 2004 during an NAACP awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision.[1]

Several women have accused Cosby of sexual assault. None of the accusations have been tested in court and Cosby has repeatedly denied the claims.[44]
On January 28, 2000, Lachele Covington alleged in a police report filed on February 1 that Cosby groped her in his apartment.[45][46][47]

In January 2004, Andrea Constand, a former Temple University employee, accused him of drugging and fondling her.

Two women, both accusing him of the same stuff. Seems kind of odd don't you think?

It might take a little more than that. How many votes did you get?

Lol, I own 3 houses in 3 different countries. All 3 of them are valued at over $500K. I don't need anyone to pay my way through life, champ.

You were the one who argued that the rich should pay their fair share. I agreed.

What I find odd, is how anyone cares now?

Covington, 20, who appeared on the CBS show as a waitress, said that she went to Cosby’s East Side townhouse in 2000 for career advice and dinner.

She said in the police report that the comedian tried to engage in sexual activity with her, but she declined.

She then told Cosby that she was leaving, and he said, “That’s fine.”

what a monster! /sarcasm

You find it odd that people would come forward to make sure their rapists are exposed years after the fact? Why? Tens of thousands of people have come forward to make sure their rapists in the Catholic Church are accused. Some 40+ years after the fact. Others have come forward long after their rapists have passed away. The reasons victims have for coming forward years after the fact don't need to matter to you.

what a monster! /sarcasm

You're ignoring the fact she claimed he had groped her. Are you trying to downplay sexual assault?

Outside of National Enquirer, what media entity reported on this prior to the pound cake speech?

Why ignore the rest of my post? Did you realize that the 'it happened a long time ago' was a non-starter? Did you realize you were downplaying sexual assault by sarcastically saying that Bill Cosby was a monster for fondling women? I would back off from that type of argument too. Anyways, I looked up any news on Bill Cosby from 2000 to 2006 and most of the news articles on it are either no longer in existence in their native sites or they're on secondary sources:

Cosby and His Accusers - Sexual Abuse, Trials & Lawsuits, Bill Cosby : People.com

If Bill Cosby was concerned last week about possible sex-abuse charges, he didn't show it. While playing four sold-out shows in Sarasota and Naples, Fla., the comedy icon seemed totally at ease. He hit all the familiar themes—raising kids, getting older, being married—that have made him one of the nation's most beloved entertainers. Asking why women marry men, imperfect as they are, he theorized, "They believe males can't control themselves. That's why they marry them." The audience howled. "A lot of stuff he talks about is truth," said one fan, Linda Cleet, 24. "He just makes the truth funny."

Another Cosby accuser speaks out

She is one of 12 anonymous "Jane Doe" witnesses in former Temple University women's basketball executive Andrea Constand's civil lawsuit accusing Cosby of drugging and groping her. A 13th woman, California attorney Tamara Green, has already allowed Constand to use her name in the lawsuit.

Joyce Dale, of Media, Delaware County, an attorney and contact for the Jane Does, and Constand's lawyers, Bebe Kivitz and Dolores Troiani, declined to comment. Two of Cosby's lawyers, Andrew Schau and Patrick O'Connor, also declined to comment.

Bill Cosby

BILL COSBY has been accused of sexual abuse by a beautiful 20-year-old actress who's had a recurring role on his TV show! Lachele Covington told the police the 62-year-old comedy legend invited her to his home for a business meeting, grabbed her breasts, tried to put his hand down her pants and then exposed himself. Terrified, she fled from Cosby's palatial Manhattan town house and four days later went to New York City police to file a complaint against the man revered as a symbol of family values.

However, there don't seem to be many news of Bill Cosby on the internet from 2000 to 2004.

But what exactly does that prove? That the internet isn't a depository for old news articles?

Naaa, that's what happens when groupies chase stars. What the hell was Cosby doing in her apartment? Did he kick the door in? This latest bunch is just bull****.

Besides this thread is about Sharpton OWING $4.5 million in unpaid, delinquent taxes.
