Boone Dam in Tennessee is upstream from 7 nuclear power plants.

"The winter drawdown, which will be complete by Nov. 10 is out of an abundance of caution, and public safety is our top priority. The dam is structurally sound, and we are continuously monitoring the dam to ensure it is safe."

Loosely translated that means, "Run for the hills, she's gonna go."

Sounds pretty dangerous to me. A sinkhole under a dam doesn't sound easy to fix. All the people making money off the dam will be saying "everything is OK," but somehow I think their opinions are suspect. I would expect a complete drawdown to begin repairs.

Even if there weren't nuke plants down stream, this could be a very disastrous event. It's a fairly large lake

Mother earth is hard to subdue forever. Dams are an abomination and any one of them that are destroyed is a good thing.

Do we even know how big this sink hole is?

Then why do we have an article on it? It appears they are considering the effect of the earthquake in Virginia back in 2011.

The article I provided indicates that the sinkhole was repaired. As to why you believe the reporting of a sensationalist site over a local new outlet is beyond my ability to comprehend. It is possible that the two problems are different problems, but that is not disaster movie scenario enough for some I suppose.

Did I say I believe one over the other? Did I??

You could just admit that you jumped the gun on the sinkhole still existing.

There's nothing to admit, I was following a thread with an article on it.

About as large as the sink hole the Democrats are facing today.

Well I've been getting hammered because I didn't know that apparently this ****ing sinkhole has been repaired for months.

I bet the Democrats wish they could say that.

We'll know in about four or five hours.
