“They came in and there were two guys” Honig said. “I asked one of them what size he needed and he showed me a badge and took me outside. They told me they were from Homeland Security and we were violating copyright laws.”

Homeland Security now going after small business for copyright infringement. That seams like some thing that should be beneath them. Aren't they supposed to be getting to the bottom of terrorist plots, not doing panty raids for Major league Baseball.

I am thinking DHS is not doing it true job and need to be disbanded or at least down sized. What do you all think of these easily joke about news article. What your opinions about Homeland Security. (You might as well get the butt jokes behind you, these incident is just asking for it).

The real disappointment here is not enough photos in the article. I was looking for some in depth journalistic investigation here.

But honestly, DHS is a department that needs to go away.

Frankly, I'd rather DHS agents be keeping tabs on potential radicals hurting cops and soldiers and stopping them before they carry out more acts of violence in the name of Islam than saving us from illegal KC Royals underwear. But that's just me being crazy again.... :wink3:

Have they determined if the NY guy was a religious radical yet? Just curious. I didn't see it this morning in the paper, but I was curious.

I thought the CIA and FBI were suppose to protect us from that.

They might have missed the guy down the street who jaywalked too. That's illegal ya know.

Whether he was or was not .... the underwear caper seems a bit low brow for DHS to get involved. Just like if the FBI busted a guy jaywalking, or the if the CIA acted on chatter about a boat load of illegal bendy straws coming from North Korea. You get where I'm going with this....

Jaywalking is a federal crime?

I actually don't know if it is or not - my point however seems to be passing you overhead at about 30,000 feet. Amirite?

This is satire, I hope? Please tell me Homeland Security isn't worried about copyrights on undies now.

I'm not outraged, I just don't think copyright enforcement is a homeland security issue - do you?

I don't either for whats that is worth. What do copyright laws have to do with homeland security anyway?

Your point was silly since you dont understand the difference between a local and federal crime. A national agency had to do the enforcing and maybe the DHS was the most expedient way to do it in this particular case.

The FBI snagged Al Capone on a tax evasion charge

Who knows? Maybe they were investigating something else and came across this

Either way, I have no sympathy for this guy and it took some DHS staff away from patting down granny at the airport so I'm not going to complain

I wonder how many agents and time spent investigating this thing Homeland security invested in this copyright bust. Here I thought Homeland Security was to keep us safe from terrorist, not safe from unauthorized underwear.

I feel safer already knowing I am not in danger from underwear, wedgie anyone?

My point was meant to be silly ... as silly as it is for the DHS to raid a shop for underwear.

Homeland security can't keep us safe from underwear until they manage to declare thong underwear to be acts of terror, which in my opinion they are.

You may be right, I never wore them and never seen anyone else wear them. So I wouldn't know.

Now just hold on here a minute. Maybe the underwear bomber was wearing unlicensed underwear, too. Uh huh. Changes everything, don't it?

But, but, but.....I thought you've said that you've been to Thailand!!

Hitting the bars while I was there, 67-69 and 73-76 they really didn't have that many strip joints that I know of. Well the Roaring Twenties was one modeled after the White Rose in Vientiane. This was more to what one would see back then:

Homeland Security, the department that cannnot keep an unaccompanied 7 year old from crossing the border, has now decided to take a peek at panties.

And you are OK with this?
