Man Beheaded Co-Worker in Moore, Oklahoma, Workplace Attack: Police

Beheading somebody is a very intimate action. If it does happen the two people usually know each other and have a history together.

To behead somebody he didn't know is evidence of something else.

Oh, I totally agree. It'll go through the standard path..."workplace violence" to "psychotic break" to "Muslim Extremist". It wouldn't surprise me if during their investigation the FBI found Islamist/ISIS/ISIL related websites on the guy's home computer. Two things derails the terrorist angle, however: 1) the guy was recently fired from his job at the murder site; and, 2) he didn't take hostages and put them on display before beheading his victim(s).

Again, I would label is terror related personally, but I can understand why the media would not. You DON'T want to give ISIS/Muslim extremist/Islamists ANY ammunition to think they've gained ANY clout in America. DON'T give these guys a rallying cry!!

The interesting this is that he didn't kill anybody inthe area he worked in, ie: the people that he was mad at, he went to another part of the building and found 2 women.

Was that planned or did it just happen. You know how Muslims value women.

Crazy guy got fired and that was what made him finally crack?

Fair enough.

But the media is emphasizing his recent converting to Islam? Plus the method of the murder which was beheading eerily resembles those of ISIS?

Will the MS media attempt to downplay any Lone Wolf attacks by ISIS Sympathizers.....here in the US and try to pass it off as something domestic and to do with crime?

It has to do with crime anyway you look at it.

The guy was apparently recently fired, in a complete rage, and had an extensive criminal background. But no,
it was Islam that all of a sudden turned him into a killer.

For some people his connection with Islam is the only thing that matters.

For one - I'm surprised he was even hired. Did they not do a background check? And if they had - didn't they flag him as an 'unstable person' so when he was fired he would have been treated differently? [Odd I even ask - because my kid's own school district apparently hired murderers who were serving life sentences to do things like janitor service in schools]

But the reason why his new affiliation with Islam even matters here isn't because of what he did (I don't think they told him to do it - it wasn't planned out with leaders, etc. He just did it on his own) - but because ISIS, etc, is accepting - seeking out - people like this guy and taking them in with open arms.

People like him ARE what make up the extremists. They're just using Islam as a bully pulpit because it will afford them religious protections in places like the US. But really - they're just a band of thugs, hoodlums, murderers, rapists, and other psychos.

They're not reasonable, balanced, good people who are following a religious edict.

And for this reason - it's important not to treat this guy as if he's just any other employee who went bazerk. HE doesn't feel he's just any old employee who went bazerk - and neither do extremist groups. So - yes - even if the religious affiliation is bull**** - it still matters because it's what they're thinking and using.

I don't believe that this guy's religion will protect him from a just verdict in court.

Interesting observation. But again, we don't know if this was pre-medicated or if the victims were just in the wrong place at the wrong time with their assailant improvising as he went along. No matter how this attack ultimately is interpreted/characterized - workplace violence or terror attack - I just hope it doesn't spring off any copycats.
