We are now bombing in Syria.

Who sent those troops to their death in a country that was no threat to the USA?

Fill us in

The Legislative and Executive branches of the United States government.

We are now blasting ISIS in Syria. I am watching it on the TV right now. It think it is about time. I am a known liberal and was against invading Iraq in the first place because Saddam had the place under control but we did and ISIS was the result so lets get them. What say you?

I say we need a Saddam #2 for:

#1 oil security

#2 order in the ME

The U.S. Congress doesn't send our troops to war. That's the president (AKA the decider.)'s job

They authorize the use of force. You need to read The Constitution some time.

i say that you have got to be ****ing kidding me. you completely change your stance because a Democrat is in the white house?

man. the older i get, the more i dislike our monochromatic duopoly system. it's all "go team." **** teams.

So you support Suddam Huessein? Are you aware of what his "under control" of Iraq was? He was cruel and a danger in his own right.... and don't pretend you know anything of the future... you have no idea what Iraq would be like now without the invasion. You're just speculating.

You are also just speculating that the war in Iraq caused ISIS. If things were executed differently maybe ISIS would have never been made. All we know now is that we failed somewhere in the creation of ISIS...you don't know where.

I'm a conservative. I was also against the invasion of Iraq. I think the President is making a mistake by going half way. I would have preferred he either ignore ISIS or do what is required to destroy it. What he is doing won't destroy them but it certainly isn't ignoring them either.

Why aren't the anti-war folks screaming their heads off for Obama's arrest for violating the Constitution?

Some are. Its the partisan sheeple who are going along with it.

The Obama war criminal is already responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent women and children and this week he has added to his list of death.

Pass that buck, eh? It's NEVER Obama's fault.

You really need to pick the right argument to make your points... You certainly have a valid line of argument for the right debate; this is not the right debate to make that point. Obama is at the United Nations and Congress voted themselves a vacation. Obama is doing something about the issue; Congress is in hiding. Congress returned from recess to face a series of difficult decisions and positions, but without so much a taking a debate, much less a vote on this issue, they decided to vote themselves a vacation and head for the hills so they wouldn't be caught taking a position.

To use a line from Evita: ".... our nation's leaders are a feeble crew...." These people are suppose to be part of the leadership, yet they lack the courage to make any policy decisions (other than really stupid ones, like shutting down government). When we actually have a question of importance (what should we do about ISIS)... Congress has literally run as far away from decision, from position and from moment of truth as they possibly could. These guys are WEAK.

In the matter of what to do about ISIS, Obama is on-the-job; congress has shirked responsibility. Not sure how you can argue otherwise?

Blind worship is truly sad.

Greetings, apdst. :2wave:

So Congress voted themselves a vacation. Okay, I would be interested in knowing if the vote was close, and who voted no; or was it nearly unanimous from both parties? Since Obama made the decision to do his bombing thing alone, should we be surprised that Congress decided to let him have it his way? That way, they won't be blamed if it goes sour. - Obama will own it.

....so you want to offer up our president for international tribunal? Interesting? You wouldn't be from ISIS, would you, they are saying the same thing?

almost as pathetic as blind hatred.... at least one is a positive emotion

Point out the part of The Constitution that allows the president to do what he wants, when Congress doesn't let him have his way.

I'm right here!! And Syria's sovereign borders and airspace, too.

There is no part.
