Shocking Anti-Islam Ad Campaign Coming To New York City Buses And Subways

And I am tired of explaining the racism people of Arab, Persian, Turkish, and Pashtun backgrounds face because they are foreign and/or Muslim. 'Brown people" experience racism in American because of differences in culture, immigration status, and religion. I have many Muslim friends of all those ethnicities, and I have seen people at restaurants, hospitals, airports, and call centers treat them like **** for some reason be it they are foreign, they are brown, they are probably Muslims, etc.

Yeah, those poor, oppressed, Arab Muslims.

It has nothing to do with race.

Libbos are the last folks to criticize religious bigotry.

All forms of bigotry is wrong...

Yeah, those poor, oppressed, Arab Muslims.

I don't like seeing my friends treated like ****... They may be Arab, but they are good people.

Oh, you have an, "Arab friend", eh? :lamo

Maybe you should tell your friends to stand up for what's right?

My best Arab friend was born in the US and is an American. His life was pretty normal before 9/11.

I have never seen him do anything wrong, expect possibly lie to his parents about going to high school parties and he has had a few traffic violations. Other than than that, he doesn't do anything wrong nor stands for anything wrong. He isn't a radical Muslim. In fact, I have seen him drink beer which is not allowed in Islam. And I have seen him eat meat that is not halal, also not allowed in Islam.

He is still Arab and believes in God and the prophet Muhammad, so he calls himself Muslim.

Oh yeah, because separating church and state is "bigotry."

The racism towards all Muslims.

Judging from your posts, these actions appear the norm and should not be shocking ...

Personally, I am not shocked or overly concerned nor will I be distracted from more important issues at hand.

Pakistan is often referred to as ME, although they don't consider themselves Middle Eastern. My Jewish friends from Israel consider themselves Middle Eastern, because of the location of Israel. Pakistan is technically Asia.

"Middle Eastern" is not technically a ethnic distinction. It is more of a regional distinction, so save it. I am not ignorant.

I already covered this BS diversion in my statement that my friends are Pashtun (Pakistani) as well as Arab, Persian, and Turkish. It's debatable if Turkey and Egypt is the ME as well.

The bigger point which you choose to ignore is the racism towards their skin color, ethnicity, and place of origin. I have seen the racism they experience first hand. The racist people don't even know they are Muslim, they just know they are brown.

I am engaged to marry somebody from the "middle east." I take it personally, because if my future children experience BS racism, it will hurt me. I have seen bigotry towards my boyfriend and towards others. I just don't like to see people I care about be hurt by others, and for stupid, ignorant reasons.

And...where did I even mention that? Care to point out where I did? No, of course you can't. Anymore redirection?

You're the one whining about "libbos" again.

But, when your fellow Libbos display their Leftist bigotry, you say nothing. Why is that?

Because I am politically independent, and I am an independent person...

Extreme views about the separation of church and state do not reflect what the Supreme Court has interpreted the Establishment Clause to require. As the Court has discussed, an overly rigid view of that separation not only threatens to violate the right to free exercise, but often seems to be the product of bitter animosity toward religion. I've noticed that the so-called "liberals"--and they are anything but--who don't like the freedoms of speech and religion guaranteed by the First Amendment often don't like the Second Amendment any better.

Just as people are taught to hate they can be taught to discontinue their ancients hatreds. Many of the racial, ethnic and religious divides have disappeared and yet many still remain.
A broader education free of a animosities, suspicions and mistrust would serve everyone better.

I totally agree. This whole planet needs a lot of education like that.

It's not an impossible task; but it's going to take a lot of work.

May good fortune bless you in life.

One can rise above circumstances or allow themselves to be swallowed by the ever present quicksands of life. If one chooses to not rise above such they choose to wallow in self righteous, rage inducing, personally destructive indignation; all to no positive avail. One should not let others' opinions become his own reality. Choose not to become a victim. It would be a sad state to pass on to offspring.

Hi Vesper...

How did the people of Islam allow their faith to be hijacked? If it is so, then what of us Christians and the Westboro Church? The Salem witch hunts?

Has the United States abandoned all pretense at justice, and all of Islam is to be blamed, not just accused, but blamed for all of terrorism?

These ads are not constructive, they do not add anything, but hold the world's largest religion responsible for the actions of fanatics.

The world's largest religion is Christianity, not Islam. Secondly, not even Westboro (as disgusting as it is) is chopping off heads.

I understand racism and bigotry is part of life for many people. Some people handle it better than others, but I have also seen it change people.

May good fortune bless you in life.

People who are so fanatic they are willing to kill themselves to kill other people can never be deterred. The only way to protect against them is to kill them before they can act. But they are a small minority. No one could have been more fanatic than the Japanese during World War II. Out of the garrison of 20,000-plus men on Iwo Jima, for example, only about one per cent survived to surrender. And suicide was a given in kamikaze attacks. But it's interesting to note that even there, there was only a surge of volunteer kamikaze pilots for a while. In the later stages, it got more and more necessary to dragoon people into that duty.
Yes, it also wasn't a very effective program either.
