Shocking Anti-Islam Ad Campaign Coming To New York City Buses And Subways

I understand racism and bigotry is part of life for many people. Some people handle it better than others, but I have also seen it change people.
The worst racism and bigotry in the world today is not coming from the USA, or any of the democratic countries.

Well, that should calm things down

Pamela Gellar is a nutjob who spends her existance inciting hatred of a entire people based on religious affiliation.

Pam Geller is a hero.. and quite brave.

A Vermont restaurant removed a sign advertising part of its breakfast menu to avoid offending a Muslim resident.

Sneakers Bistro had put up the sign as part of “Operation Bloom,” a program launched by the city of Winooski to maintain flower beds next to area roads. Business owners were allowed to advertise in the area they maintained, WPTZ News reported Sunday.

The restaurant put up a “yield” sign that also said, “Sneakers Bacon.”

A woman, identifying herself as Muslim, wrote in an online community forum that she was offended by the sign, saying it was “insensitive to those who do not consume pork.”

Sneakers’ owners decided that rather than offend the woman, they would remove the sign.

They also indicated there might be some security concerns as well.

“We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics,” the management wrote on its Facebook page. “We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety. Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”

I don't know about that but their policies have never seemed to be pro American. There certainly is room for suspicion.

look at their actions.. or lack of...look at who each is..

You just said "The racism towards all Muslims". Maybe you should think this through. Islam by country - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

By the phrase "all Muslims" I mean that many people here including the idiot woman at the center of these bus advertisements are making blank statements towards ALL MUSLIMS. Not all Muslims are fundamental radicals and supporters of ISIS, which is what these bus ads are want you to believe.

I am not ignorant on the amount of ethnic and cultural diversity encompassing the Muslim faith.... lol.

The worst racism and bigotry in the world today is not coming from the USA, or any of the democratic countries.

Bigotry and hate is a two way street.

What's the difference between Muslims getting pissed about bacon advertisements, and Christians whining about people saying Happy Holidays instead of Marry Christmas?

It's all BS. The rest of society doesn't need to reaffirm your faith nor respect it.
Your bringing other beliefs, or non-beliefs, into the thread means you lose. It's about Islam.

Do you all find the anti-Christian ads on NYC buses and subways just as shocking?

The way Republicans think about politics is so... childlike... "Pro American?" Seriously, as a grown man, that is how you decide which political figures you support? You try to guess which ones are "pro American?"

You apparently didn't see the post I was responding to.

I can understand your perception that only Republicans are 'pro American' but that may be unfair to the few Democrats who also serve in the best interests of their country.

No lol, I think that evaluating American politicians on whether they are "pro American" or "anti American" is just flat out idiotic. It's second-grade level reasoning being applied to serious adult problems. I mean, come on guys. None of the politicians want to steal Christmas, hate America or hate people who work. None of the politicians are communists or terrorists. This stuff is important. Focus on serious, adult, issues. Talk like a grown up when you talk about important political topics. Describe and weigh costs and benefits in pragmatic terms and detail specific arguments for or against policy positions, don't just toss out juvenile suggestions that a candidate is probably a boogieman like a 5 year old would do.

Really? It sure as hell would have stopped that thief from thieving.

How about some specifics? Under what country's laws, and when, was theft a capital crime for which the penalty was usually carried out? British law used to make all sorts of crimes punishable by death, but for all but the most serious crimes, the people convicted were seldom executed.

To return to the topic of this thread, do you think the state of New York has authority to prohibit these ads? In this country, should government be able to ban political speech in public forums whenever it doesn't like what's being said? If what someone says makes members of a group it's politically correct to consider victimized feel all icky, should the government make the mean, insensitive person stop hurting the members of the victim group by saying such yucky things?

I think MTA cooked up a phony "clear and present danger" rationale after it lost the first challenge by the group that wants to place these ads. I don't think anything about the ads even comes close to taking them outside the realm of First Amendment protected speech. Leftists just want to prevent people from telling the truth about the Jew-hating Islamist SOB's whose feet they're always trying to kiss. Not surprising, since many of them make clear by constantly running America down that they don't like it much better than the Islamists do.

Really.

I'm not here to educate you look it up yourself. .

Let's return, the State seems to think it does. No, but then you get into that whole Public Order sophistry...Do you get that icky feeling allot?

I think the ad unnecessary.

Roughly 1 in 5 people on this planet are Muslim. Does it really seem like a stroke of genius to lump them all in the same bunch?

All said and done the dingbat's perpetuating this crap, killing innocents and civilians are as about as much adherent to Islam and representative of it as a Fortune 500 company CEO is an adherent to or representative of Christianity.

Well they are all in the same bunch. There are different sects within that bunch but otherwise their being Islamic is what distinguishes them from others.

This woman has the education, intelligence and freedom that most Muslim women will never achieve, can't even aspire to, and largely because they are kept down by the most barbaric and backward religion of Islam. What the Arab World Produces - Dennis Prager - Page 1

Actually, no, that's just ignorance clouding your judgement. There is a difference between being Islamic and Islamist. Cutting the heads off reporters, suicide bombing a Tel Aviv bus, and killing innocent civilians is what distinguishes the two, is very Islamist, but in no way Islamic.

That is a cultural, not an Islamic thing. You clearly haven't a clue...

The Prophet and Women in Islam, What Women Want

The biggest mistake the Right has made is in treating Muslims as antagonists rather than allies.

Islamists are just as much an enemy of Islam as they are of Americans...
