Senate Blocks Pay Equity Bill[W:38]

Re: Senate Blocks Pay Equity Bill

And are they salaried or hourly? Work on commission for sure.

They legally cant work more than 60 if hourly if not compensated by OT.

Exempt employees don't get O/T, Non-Exempt do. In retail, they are mostly Non-Exempt, hence they go crazy if you hit overtime.

Exactly.

Re: Senate Blocks Pay Equity Bill

Saying that equal pay already exists is the very myth you already speak of.

Saying that women get equal pay is what has been thoroughly debunked--the opposite of what you said .

Equal pay???

You do realize that woman my age/in my age group (30-40) MAKE MORE than their male counterparts??? It gets even worse for men below the age of 30.

Democrats = war on women. Ironic but not really.

Well considering they think they own woman like they're slave voters, cant say I'm shocked.

In the same jobs? That's interesting...where did you find that?

Re: Senate Blocks Pay Equity Bill

Yeah...I know the laws

I also know what my managers made last year

Hours are not an issue when average compensation exceeds 100k annually

Hours technically arent an issue for any salaried/exempt worker. Care to elaborate on your response?

This is what a Majority Leader McConnell has in store for women.
And GOPs wonder why they have a gender problem.

Senate blocks pay equity bill - Burgess Everett - POLITICO.com

WTH has McConnell got to do with this? An untrue campaign issue, but that's all you've got, so hire robots instead of people! Does Patty Murray not receive the same pay as everyone else in the Senate? The equal pay problem exists ONLY in lower-level government jobs, so Schumer should fix the problems with their own dirty sheets first.

Then why are you against equal pay laws?

Equal pay laws?

I'm against socialism, and racism and against all the bull**** you stand for by grouping people into groups.

Do you understand this?

Re: Senate Blocks Pay Equity Bill

Another sound good law that deoesn't hold up to even the most superficial analyis.

First off ,there is no credible evidence that the problem even exists.

There are a myriad of factors that go into determining pay-education, experience, performance, demand for position ( can very definitely change over reltavely short periods of time). This law would be good only for employment lawyers.

Re: Senate Blocks Pay Equity Bill

The McFilibustering Senate is still blocking pay equity for women.
And still dancing around all sides of the minimum wage.

As with Scott walker and Rik Scott .

Yes indeed, waitresses should make as much as construction workers.

And, who runs the Senate?

that is the theory of the idiotic "comparable worth" argument that was thoroughly discredited about 30 years ago when that nonsense was first floated. Under Title VII, a woman who is paid less due to her sex easily establishes a prima facie case of sex-based disparate treatment. if these women are not ever winning those cases it must be because the employers can articulate an un-rebutted reason that is not based on sex-based discrimination

One has to be either incredibly stupid, incredibly ignorant, or incredibly dishonest to support a bill like this.

Voters represent the first two categories; politicians represent the latter.
