Rand Paul: As president I would 'destroy ISIS militarily[W:20]

Re: Rand Paul: As president I would 'destroy ISIS militarily

He's not wrong, even if he may be doing it for political reasons.

It's not unreasonable, in my view, to expect that the 2016 Presidential primaries, at least on the Republican side, and again in the general election, will focus to a large extent on who among the candidates is going to reengage America in a serious way in world affairs. The foolish Obama experiment has proven to be a disaster and it's not impossible to believe that before Obama's term expires the terrorists will be successful in bringing destruction to American soil once again. The best way to insure against that is to bring the fight to them in their home base.

What's canada's military response to ISIS been? Oh yeah, NOTHING. How about you worry about getting YOUR country off their asses and fight instead of the U.S. footing the majority of the money and troops eh?

Re: Rand Paul: As president I would 'destroy ISIS militarily

Im not a fan of Rand and I dont agree with his views but he is actually doing it the proper way- he is seeking Congressional authorization before launching an attack- unlike Dubya or Obama, he is actually following the Constitution.

Which attack did "Dubya" fail to get congressional authorization for?

Harper: ISIS like the Taliban | Fort Erie Times

Canada is not a super power nor do we act like one. Canada did not get the US into Iraq a decade ago and even though Canada didn't support the invasion, Canada provided logistical and other resources in the Persian Gulf that assisted the US led forces in that effort. Canada has been an unwavering ally of the US, often even when it sees the US making boneheaded moves.

Canada is also supporting the NATO efforts in Ukraine having already sent troops and fighter jets to Lithuania in preparation of defense of that country.

Not sure I get the need of some in America to belittle the friends of America.

NextEra is right: if you don't support sending Canadian troops into harm's way to help deal with ISIS, it's very hypocritical to demand that the US send more of its own.

let him be a hypocrite, canadians fight like the french, with a white flag, hell maybe even worse.

First Rand Paul is against all foreign aid to Israel--thus no invitation to the "Adelson" summit in Vegas. My how he's evolved into a raving "warhawk, after bashing HRC all month for being a "warhawk" .

Re: Rand Paul: As president I would 'destroy ISIS militarily

destroy ISIS militarily

Hmmm...how well did that strategy work in Vietnam? Or more recently Afghanistan?

How does one destroy something that's an ideology spanning ethnicities, generations, and continents?

Rand paul the Neocon. That didn't take long. Well at least he didn't give a bribe like his dad.

And when I'm done with ISIS, I'll cure AIDS/HIV, cancer, EBOLA, world hunger, poverty, addictions, and last but not least that disgusting homosexual thing.

Rand Paul: As president I would 'destroy ISIS militarily' - The Week

It's a heck of a good idea in my opinion. I think we should just ultimately create a huge hole in the ocean just east of israel and extending all the way to china. Just nuke the heck out of them until no one is left over there. Fix the problem for good.

War in Afghanistan (2001

The Bush administration, for its part, did not seek a declaration of war and labeled Taliban troops as supporters of terrorists rather than soldiers. It thus defined them as outside the protections of the Geneva Convention and the due process of law. This position was later overruled by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2008, following other decisions that overturned some US positions.

I agree. They're much more pragmatic and have a stronger economy for having wasted considerably less blood and treasure.

There's no evidence that ISIS exists. Only evidence available is that there are groups in Iraq opposed to its regime and fighting it, and that there are some who are engaging in brutalities for that reason or for other unrelated reasons.

Yeah, let's send in the tens of thousands of ground troops that would be required to root out ISIS in Iraq and Syria! What could possibly go wrong? :doh

I don't recall him ever saying he DIDN'T want to take out the terrorists.

The Isolationist/Pacifist Rand Paul becomes the latest Republican to goad the President into another unpopular war that he knows the war-weary Americans are sick of. The height of hypocrisy from a Rand Paul who has spent his 6-week vacation bashing Mrs. Clinton as a warhawk

Being opposed to foreign aid and taking out terrorists that threaten and kill your citizens are two different things.

So many inaccuracies in this quote it makes me wonder if you are actually serious.

Kentucky law currently prevents Rand Paul from running as a Senator and for the Presidency at the same time. Paul is just another of the many Chiefs in D.C. when what is neede is more Indians doing there job. Will Paul vote yes to authorize money for the current act being introduced .
