"I'm Not Your Brother," Officer tazes Man in Front of His Children.

He was "fleeing on foot". Anyone can see that from the video. When stopped by cop you cannot just walk away. You do not have the right to do that. You have to ask "am I free to go". If the cop says yes *then* you can walk away. If the cop says no then you are being detained, and while detained yes you do have to give your legal name and date of birth.

Everyone should take a concealed weapon permit class so they know these things even if they hate guns and would never carry one.

you don't meet non aggression with aggression.

if cops are allow to get violate, BECAUSE THEY JUST THINK someone might fight them......we are going to have many people hurt, because of a cops thoughts.

Why is that? Because I want to be left alone and consider two cops in my face annoying? If I don't want to be bothered by people there is very little chance I'm going to help them bother me. My far too stubborn to change my answer from go away to here is what you want.

Because if your talk here is any indication of your actual behavior when coming in contact with police it's easy to see them rightfully tasing you.

All the cops had to do was arrest him. Instead of following procedure, which is to arrest any individuals that obstruct an investigation, they chose to lose all sense of self-control and assault the man. Unacceptable. The man is not completely innocent in all of this but cops cannot assault people at will simply for being "uncooperative." That's not how this works.

Procedure said to arrest him. They should have arrested him and called it good. This situation was a show of excessive force and should not be tolerated. We should keep our law enforcement in check. They do, after all, work for us.

My trust that you actually know any police policy or procedure and have the experience to know how to carry them out can be expressed in negative numbers.

He didn't have to do anything. He was perfectly in his rights to refuse to show them his ID. Cops are just stupid ****s that get mad when their authority is challenged.

He was in a restricted/private area. Of course the cops have a right to ask for ID. The cops have no idea why he was there, for all they know he was up to no good. Had they not asked for an ID, and this guy had nefarious plans and a record... You would be one of the first demanding to know why the cops didn't ask for an ID when they first encountered him.

Hell, LutherF stated the procedure himself. I actually wasn't the one that brought up the proper procedure in this situation, he was.

No, I wouldn't.

Because I refuse to talk to them? Usually when I deal with cops I'm not cooperative, but that is because as I see it I never consented to their authority over me. They can leave at any point and bother someone that did. Good luck to them with that though.

Talking is not the problem, really. It's your inability to listen that will become a shocking experience.

ecofarm answered rightly. But really, you're not going to listen, you've taken the I do what I want when I want to stand. Sounds good on the internet but gets you tased in real life.

Am I the only one that thinks it's weird to have a restricted area on public property? If everyone owns the property what is the deal with the "restricted area?
You are the only one. Any such "employee-only" area is perfectly normal.

Its clear from the video the police did try to arrest him and he resisted. Only after resisting arrest was he tazed.

The posted information said the private security guards asked him to leave a few times and he refused being in a private area of a bank.

Anybody would have called the police and the police have every right to think this guy is up to no good.

If he just wanted to go pick up his kids, he would have left when the security guards asked him to.

No sympathy for this one.
But he's black, which means he's more equal than white security guards and is exempt from the law when white cops enforce it.

#blackprivilege

He wasn't met with agression. Watch the video. All the cop did was ask questions. He escalated the situation from there.

And where is the rest of the video, if he is so innocent?

Give them no reason.

That is absolute nonsense. In fact that is nothing but bigoted hyperbole.

Sorry, but if the property is owned by everyone it really makes no sense for one party to lock everyone else out of certain areas on the property. If we all own the property then we all have equal claim to be anywhere on the property we damn well please.

Watch the video, he made the accusation "its because I'm black". In truth, its because he was trespassing. It's one thing to accidently be in a private area when there was no sign, but its quite another to refuse to leave after security asks.

People that want everyone else to respect their authority are expected to get aggressive when someone tells them to **** off. I wouldn't expect any different from some dude that did nothing but get a job as a police officer and for some stupid reason thinks he has authority over me. I never gave him that authority, so he **** off with his absurd claims.

Tell that to federal or state park rangers or wardens.

Jerry... i commented on what the police said, not the video,...St. Paul police Chief Tom Smith says officers became violent with Lollie because they "believed he might either run or fight with them

Lol. There was one a few weeks back that told me I had to leave a certain area. Sure, I jumped the fence, but **** the fence. It has no justification in being there.

The public owns my local court house. I for one apreciate the public being kept out of the will vault.

Public use =/= public access.
