The chief already stated that he was found not to be complicit in the robbery.Johnson has admitted guilt to involvement in a crome that he could be prosecuted for. It's not much of a stretch to suggest that he would say anything to keep his ass out of jail.
In the video he can be seen putting the box of cigars Brown gave him back on the counter. He says that at the time he did that, he stated he doesn't steal.
Now his cooperation with police may have more to do with an outstanding misdemeanor he has and any involvement in the struggle with the Officer.
