Police Fatally Shoot Man in South L.A.; Family Members Say He Was Lying Down When Sho

Re: Police Fatally Shoot Man in South L.A.; Family Members Say He Was Lying Down When

So the percentages of blacks being slaughtered is nothing to moan and bitch about huh? we just just all move along now, nothing to see here attitude?

Me thinks this is why America has problems with racial tensions, because some people marginalize a black person getting shot, by a cop no less.

Oh, what color was the cop? If the cop were black, we might not see a blackout (no pun intended or implied) by LA cops.

You completely missed the point. Lots of other races this is happening to, why is it only news if it happens to a black person? Are you trying to tell us that only blacks are unjustly shot by cops? For that matter, why is there so much attention and outcry when the facts are not even known and no investigation is completed yet?

No **** the cops ain't talking, it's an active case and they are prohibited from discussing it. Duh.

Senior Airman Elio Carrion, 21, was listed in good condition at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. He was shot three times in the chest, ribs and leg, his father-in-law, Ernesto Paz, told KTLA-TV.
Carrion was a passenger in a Corvette that crashed into a wall following the brief chase, authorities said.
The dark, grainy videotape shows Carrion lying on the ground next to the car, talking to a silhouetted officer who is pointing a gun at him. Carrion supports himself on one arm and his face is brightly lit by the officer's flashlight.
Carrion is heard telling the officer he is unarmed and is in the military.
At one point, a voice is heard saying several times: "Get up."
Carrion says: "I'm gonna get up." As he rose, at least four shots were fired and Carrion collapsed.
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department took the original tape, refusing to release it to the public or describe what it shows.
Tape Shows Police Shooting Unarmed Airman

An Alabama police chief has determined that one of his officers used “appropriate force,” when the cop arrived at the scene of a traffic accident and immediately shot an apparently unarmed Air Force airman.
The airman, 20-year-old Michael Davidson, was shot in the chest and nearly bled out before receiving medical aid, according to the Raw Story.
Davidson was driving to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He may have been driving erratically, according to the Ledger-Enquirer.
After clipping another vehicle, he pulled over to exchange insurance information with the other driver.
Eventually, Officer Phillip Hancock arrived on scene. Accounts differ as to what happened next.
Davidson’s father claimed that Hancock shot his son almost immediately.
“They couldn’t have been there three or four seconds when I was shot,” said Davidson, according to his father’s account.
Police Chief John McEachern, on the other hand, said that Hancock did not not fire until coming to the erroneous conclusion that Davidson was a threat.
Hancock ordered Davidson to put his hands on his head, and then fired, according to McEachern.

Bet the shot man was a police informant and the cop needed to clean up loose ends. Why else would you shoot a man in the back??? The cop couldnt be that jaded to just execute him on whim could he? Like... "ok guy is subdued. ehhhhhh. I think I rather kill him"

Police Fatally Shoot Man in South L.A.; Family Members Say He Was Lying Down When Shot | KTLA

Another black man shot in the back while complying with police orders.

WTF? are police departments having open season on black people or what?

In various ways, yes, but those crosshairs have extended far enough out now that everyone is under the umbrella with the severity being dependent on specific geographic location.

We have been witnessing the dawn of a new era of policing in the United States for several years now and we're seeing - from the MSM, local media, print media & social media - the implementation of a new doctrine: Shock & Awe w/ Overwhelming Force.

Incidents like this & other controversial ones will continue to occur on a frequent basis.

Re: Police Fatally Shoot Man in South L.A.; Family Members Say He Was Lying Down When

So could a black man. I believe it's even statistically more likely to be a black man, not that this really means very much in itself.

Maybe America needs to get over its race obsession so it can focus on its violent crime.

There's no racial aspect, there, so Libbos ignore that. That reluctance to become as outraged about black on black crime is where the breadown begins.

There seems to be a racial aspect brought in to pretty much any incident in America, regardless of how relevant it actually is, which is my point. Of course, the obsession with simplistic political labelling (e.g. "Libbos") seems to be a significant problem too.

This fits the lefts narrative and they would LOVE another distraction right about now. Something like 130 blacks were shot by cops last year in cases worthy of investigation (1-2%). All while 8K were shot by other blacks. Something like 93 percent of blacks are killed by other blacks. Blacks are similarly more likely to be victims of other crimes (including violent) by other blacks.

But its crickets about that. The left says it wants an honest discussion about race but apparently it does not. :(

It does matter except its not in the narrative. Its fascinating what problems liberals decide to address.

So much for crickets, ah ha, the Ferguson Missouri racist police force is now, not in charge because leftists took the initiative to calm people down.

People concerned about violence? 220,000 firearms lost or stolen in what 2012? most of which ended up on the streets, at 50 bucks a pop. Why, because assholes, real genuine gun dealers and the ilk that buy them, don't know how to properly secure them, which is why they get stolen.

When those people learn how to secure firearms properly, we'll see less violent crime, that's make second amendment people happy now, wouldn't it?

Why didn't we hear about them is the question. Why isn't the community up in arms, doing something and demanding answers? We hear about incidents like Ferguson because the community does something and makes it national news.

There was an incident here last year that someone recorded a video of a young man being arrested by the police using excessive force, then they go after his brother who was just standing there recording it and chase him into a house without a warrant. You may or may not have heard about it but nothing was done and wouldn't have been done until the people in that community went down to city hall and protested and demanded something be done.

"It doesn't matter"? Seriously?

So ignore everything he posted simply because thugs and gangsters aren't in a "position of trust", so just give them a pass for their behavior, which is far far far more detrimental to the community and this country than the actions of one possible rogue cop.

Seriously?

So...the correct response to police abuses is for the communities to riot? So...maybe there should be a group of white race baiters (the equivalent of Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton) that look for any incidents where white 'victims' of police brutality can be exploited and that only surface when there are passions to be inflamed? That 'helps'?

Demand investigations. Fine. Pursue legal action (the 'victims' listed above did).

So...everyone knows that poor Rodney King was beaten down by cops and there was a trial and it caused days of riots. "The Community" got involved in that...that worked out well...right? Billions in damages, others got beat down. Rodney king was a paroled felon that led police on a high speed chase rather than just pull over. He was still on paper and his BAC was around .20 at the time of the incident. When he finally was stoped, rather than comply or cooperate,, he began acting like a drunk felon on parole. They tried tazing him several times and finally jumped on him and beat him. Was it excessive? Well...it sure as hell LOOKED bad...I'll give em that.

Rodney king also had a history of drug charges, more DUI charges, domestic violence charges after beating his wife, 2 incidents of hit and run and 2 more DUIs.

Was he worth all that?

I didn't say riot at all, I just said communities should get involved. If a unarmed white person does get gunned down by the police, yes people should stand up and demand action. Nowhere and in no way do I support rioting as the answer, peaceful protests all the way. I was saying that because no one does seem to care and get off theirs butt and do something about the stories you posted, that's why we haven't heard about them. But whatever, spin it how you want it spun.

No one said nothing was done in those cases. They simply arent national spectacles because a bunch of race baiting assholes didnt inflame communities into riots before any facts were known about the case. There is no 'spin'...only the facts. The 'facts' are that any time there is an opportunity to exploit, the same cast of clowns will show up and create the kind of responses that only reinforce every problem and stereotype already in existence. The facts are that as soon as this slows down a little bit, those people will slink away from the scene and leave the residents to deal with the carnage.

I think we may need the facts on complaints against this Police Dept. from the past to see if there is a history. When a 70% black community has a 90% white Police Dept., it seems a little alarming/suspicious. Granted that perhaps blacks don't apply for Police jobs in Ferguson, but when looking for a job, "a jobs a job," is the prime mover. I can see both sides of this story, but nothing justifies what was apparently 4 shots, perhaps 5, especially since the body was 35 feet from the car, unless he had really long arms, eh?

havent you heard? There are eyewitnesses to the event that said the cop shot him in the head and then the back at point blank range.

It has been revealed that the PD there HAS attempted to hire on black officers but when they do and they get trained they get snatched up into higher paying LE jobs because of other peoples quota systems. maybe a better effort at quality law enforcement retention is in order across the board.

Assuming there was anything inappropriate with this shooting. Which, we cant do...right?

The incidents were handled. They werent made into race baiting spectacles resulting in billions of dollars worth of damage to the community. there was nothing wrong with the community response to those stories cited. They were handled like adults. Their communities werent devastated. Tragedy wasnt compounded on by a bunch of ****ing morons.

Re: Police Fatally Shoot Man in South L.A.; Family Members Say He Was Lying Down When

So of the 42% that were white and the 20% that were Hispanic, how many of them made the national news and caused uproars? Why is only blacks, 32% of the shootings, that the press and others focus on?

Why is this making headlines? Because the kid was of color? Who are the real racists, who is profiting from pointing to a skin color instead of reporting a death of a human being? Who is stirring racial tensions and why?
