Obama wanted to go in and got smacked down-dropped it like it was hot.
Obama wanted to go in and got smacked down-dropped it like it was hot.
Obama wanted to go in, but was smacked down, or
Obama went in, and now the weapons are in the hands of ISIS...
which?
He meant ISIS will end the war in Iraq. They intend to bring the war to the US. With our open border to the South we can expect more mayhem here. Some cities, like Chicago, might not be able to tell the difference.
Let's see--you said, "Conservatives hate the constitution, they hate the government, they hate the president and half the country, they hate education, science and the environment, they hate women, gays, immigrants, minorities, the poor....they even hate US history and seek to change it. Conservatives hate America so much that they would rather see it fail economically and collapse from within like the USSR than to thrive under a democracy Really, there isn't much about America that conservatives do seem to like. Those that hate America as much as conservatives do deserve to live in Mississippi."
I am fairly conservative and don't hate the Constitution or education or science or the environment or gays or women or minorities or the poor, and I certainly don't hate American history. I don't know any conservatives who do.
Of course, I don't know ALL conservatives, as you do.
Hey, remember back when George W called these people "evildoers", and every one of the Intellectual Set scoffed at how un-nuanced and simplistic he was?
Anyone got a good argument for why that description does not apply to these people?
Bush thought he was ordained by God to have a 'holy war' against 1.6 billion Muslims (23% of the world's population).....
''Just in the past few months,'' Bartlett said, ''I think a light has gone off for people who've spent time up close to Bush: that this instinct he's always talking about is this sort of weird, Messianic idea of what he thinks God has told him to do.'' Bartlett, a 53-year-old columnist and self-described libertarian Republican who has lately been a champion for traditional Republicans concerned about Bush's governance, went on to say: ''This is why George W. Bush is so clear-eyed about Al Qaeda and the Islamic fundamentalist enemy. He believes you have to kill them all. They can't be persuaded, that they're extremists, driven by a dark vision. He understands them, because he's just like them. . . . "

Muslims all over the world became a lot more radicalized after Bush's holey war against "evil doers" than they were before. But then, so did a lot of Americans.

Im talking about direct military action. He of course did aid the rebels.
Covertly we were in nearly from the beginning with arms and training that's now being used to terrorise Iraq too! This is what China and Russia warned US interference in Syria would cause.
This kind of **** needs to stop. It is time for us to organize and arm a Christian army to put a stop to this crap everywhere.
I have an AR and a few hundred rounds of ammo, where do we meet up?
So, what was the right thing to have done in Syria?
Well, US support as well as Saudi support to the rebels gave them the strength to hang on and grow and effectively challenge president Assad. Had there been no support, president Assad would have crushed that rebellion early on. There wouldn't be 160,000 dead civilians, nor would IS (formerly ISIS) be wrecking havoc in Iraq right now, which is why, as I already said, Russia and China warned us of exactly what we are seeing today. In fact its clear that in one fashion or another, decades of support of militant Islamists along with the removal of Hussein, Mubarak, Gaddafi and the attempted removal of Assad has the ME in such trouble now.
Aren't you worried about being called a "hate America first" liberal?
You big kidder you, haven't you seen that label thrown at me plenty already.
Yep. It gets thrown at anyone who dares to suggest that perhaps, just maybe, our foreign policy in the ME is actually making things worse, that we should have stayed out of Iraq, as well as Syria. A few extreme America haters have even suggested that maybe arming the Mujahadeen was the wrong thing to do.
Go figure. Us peacenicks are really way out there, at least according to rant radio.
I wholeheartedly agree. I think all of the religious in the world should arm up and head to the middle east so they can battle it out thunderdome style.
What do you know, someone else had the same idea, even designated a battle sight for it. A place in old Israel called Armageddon.

Bruce Bartlett is a butthurt former Republican and current denizen of Salon.com who was never close to Bush or his cabinet. He has no special insight into the President and there remains no reason to believe that Bush conceived of our campaign as a 'Holy War'.
If you think about it, it's a great idea. All of these people claim their religion is right, well now we can finally find out whose is.

I'd rather see a prayer battle. Let the Muslims pray for the return of the 12th. Imam, and the Christians pray for the second coming. Whoever's guy comes back first wins.
Actually even according to Christianity, their guy comes back first.
Did I understand that right? The Muslims' guy comes back?
