Unfortunately theft of marijuana happens a lot, legal or otherwise, at least with it being a legal dispensary, there were no guns or violence involved as there would've been in an illegal marijuana theft.
Not a matter of proving anyone wrong. Simply a matter of perspective that was evidently lacking.

Man’s conviction upheld in Long Beach killing of medical marijuana distributor
LONG BEACH >> A state appeals court panel on Friday upheld a Granada Hills man’s first-degree murder conviction for the killing of a medical marijuana distributor whose body was found in a Long Beach alley more than three years ago.
A three-justice panel from California’s Second District Court of Appeal cited “overwhelming evidence” of Marcel Maurice Mackabee’s guilt, including his admission that he was with Phillip Williamson the day of the murder. The appellate court justices also noted that the Toyota 4Runner that Mackabee was driving was in the immediate vicinity of the alley minutes before Williamson’s body was found on March 24, 2011
Williamson, who picked up marijuana from Northern California and sold it in large quantities to medical marijuana dispensaries, was shot once in the back of the head and dumped in an alley in the 1500 block of Pine Avenue. He died a day later.
B.. but peaceful unicorns and puppies fa la la la!
Agreed.
Also, once it becomes generally available everywhere the prices should flatten out, though the sin taxes will compensate somewhat.
This should especially be the case with marijuana, as it is pretty simple to grow, compared to alcohol and tobacco, so there will be a lot of amateur competition.
People still steal and illegally import cigarettes, so it's going to happen, but I don't think it's considered a serious problem.
And now that legal growers and distributors can call the cops when they are robbed, that removes one of the reasons they have been targeted in the past.
$50,000 in marijuana stolen from Seattle dispensary
Well that didn't take long...
Growing your own and or selling it without a license is illegal in Washington.
Also, the whole idea of illegally importing, selling, or growing a plant is nonsensical.

But isn't street dealing dead now that MJ has been legalized?
I thought that is what we were all told. Legalize it and the cartels will go away.
I'm not especially familiar with the new law there. I was speaking to how amateur supply will compete with the professional products, once it is decriminalized at a national level. In theory, we'll eventually be able to go to a farmer's market and buy stuff just about as good as any boutique shop.
Do you mean that making it illegal is nonsense, or that act of growing\selling is nonsense?
You DO know that some people steal cars...right?But isn't street dealing dead now that MJ has been legalized?

Yours is such a goofy response. A crime happened. Crime happens.
The price of MJ in Washington is something like $25 a gram. Do the math. It's not competitively priced.
You also have to be over 21, which is another lol worthy **** up.
How many people here started smoking pot when they were teenagers? Damn, that sure is a lot of hands.

No one is stupid enough to believe crime will ever go away. With legalization it will definitely be reduced. However...as it has only been legal for a short period of time it is highly unlikely that it will end crime instantly.Yes it is goofy, sure it is.
One of the big selling points to legalizing pot is that crime and the cartels will go away.
That is the goofy part, that people believe that.
What an ignorant assumption. First, it's only been a few weeks in Washington and a few months in Colorado. Do you think drug cartels will wilt in a moment? Also, drug dealers sell drugs other than marijuana. Then there is the fact that underage people will still have to buy from a dealer, but now that it's legal for adults, the police can concentrate on these illegal dealers.

But extend your lack of logic. Jewelry sales are legal, yet people still steal and sell jewelry. Cars are legal to purchase, yet people still steal cars and resell them, and yes...marijuana is valuable so someone will be inclined to steal it. Just like they rob legal pharmacies today and steal pain pills.

If you are restricted to selling or growing something only under the approval of the state there isn't an amateur market for it.
I mean the act of making it illegal is nonsense. Sorry, I forgot a word. Making a plant illegal to grow, import, or sell is nonsensical since it comes from the earth and is nothing but part of the world in which we live. If we can't even accept all plants as part of life we might as well just give up on life as we are obviously not fit for it.
I get your point. You are opposed to legalization of marijuana and think this somehow proves your position. It does not. It just makes you look silly. Stop it.I am sorry if you missed my point.
Since there's no report of gunfire or victim of violence, I'm pretty sure I can determine that if guns were present they offered no violence upon a victim. If you witnessed the event and know that no guns or violence was involved, I hope you hop on the phone and provide your eyewitness account.
