don't read propaganda...

read what libertarians stand for here.....

a sample....

As respect for property rights is fundamental to maintaining a free and prosperous society, it follows that the freedom to contract to obtain, retain, profit from, manage, or dispose of one’s property must also be upheld. Libertarians would free property owners from government restrictions on their rights to control and enjoy their property, as long as their choices do not harm or infringe on the rights of others

do you see communism in that statement......I dont

That's just one brand.

Didn't you know? You've got a lot of prominent subsidiaries, too.

We're sidetracking. I'd be more than happy to debate this further in its own thread.

I'm well aware of this. It's the reason why libertarians will NEVER be taken seriously. An anarcho communist, an anarcho capitalist, a minarchist, and a fascist all get to call themselves the same thing...libertarian.

Why have a label at all, if it is so completely undefined?

Libertarians can be defined simply, "Stay out of my life, and I'll stay out of yours." It's when qualifiers get thrown in that you have the different labels thrown in. To be fair though, Democrats and Republicans have just as many factions inside their own parties.. it's just they get drowned out as their is a clear hierarchy.

I know of no libertarian, who believes in............. government control.

there are those who believe in limited and no government.

Yeah, but the factions within the republicrat party aren't polar opposites of each other.

The issue you have is the NAP. Or, more to the point, the interpretation of it, and the level to which it is adhered to.

Your fellow libertarian, Hamster Budha, does. Maybe ask him about it? You seem uninformed.

Oh contrair, I think there are some segments of the party that have a big issue with the Neocons.

I'm sorry you got "scammed" but the moment you realized that this house was a scam, you get the F out. I don't care his wife is pregnant or he has a toddler. Mu opinion would be "My house, get the bleep out". Cops would be called, and that door would be kicked in. I'd be going ballistic.

It's a ****ty situation for all involved. Be willing to bet the guy and his family don't have anywhere to go nor any money to rent somewhere else.

Here's the thing, I think for a party to be successful, it has to know where to draw the line between it's beliefs, and what the people will stomach. Everyone knows Obama wants a single-payer healthcare system, but he knew pushing for something like that would be political suicide. So, he compromised.

That's where the Libertarian party has fallen short. They don't know how to compromise.

I agree..
I would have called the police and made the renter come up with the documentation for the police to pursue the man with the cash. But the renters would be packing up and moving to a hotel, motel or friends.

Again - not that easy. If they truly have documentation, they can't just be tossed. Rules are set in place to protect renters, even if they are there as a result of fraud.

KevinKohler likes to make things up as he goes, i see nothing from you which indicates, you believe in government control.

libertarians are not going to compromise on ......liberty.

One side of libertarian believes in 0 property ownership.

That's about as polar as is logically possible.

Because that would be...anti libertarian?

I kid.

I agree 100%.

Personal attacks are traditionally a solid sign of a weak or failing argument.

I never said HE doesn't personally believe in government control...but he knows of factions within your amalgamated party that does.

Okay I see your point...

What about the first renter, that was gone for two days and these rules set in place to protect renters?
He gets tossed out without his belongings?

Messy situation, fur sure

You accused me of being a liar, which is what "making things up as I go" is.

Hamster Buddha is aware of libertarians who believe in government control. Or google it yourself, if you're so interested, which you seem to be.

you stated ..the police were force under libertarianism....that is false police secure rights of the public by force...

Libertarianism in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Libertarianism in the United States is a movement promoting individual liberty and minimized government.[1][2] The Libertarian Party, asserts the following to be core beliefs of libertarianism:

Libertarians support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.[3][4]

The U.S. Libertarian Party promotes individual sovereignty and seeks an end to coercion, advocating a government that is limited to protecting individuals from the initiation of force.[3] In the United States, people commonly associate the term libertarian with those who have "economically conservative" and "socially liberal" political views (using the common meanings of "conservative" and "liberal" in the United States

your links seek to demonize libertarians [by the left] because they oppose force, income tax, , and are for property rights.

the Bloomberg link speaks negatively- of people who are in the republican party or is a libertarian.

It increases the cost of doing business. If your employee gets hurt doing something you pay them to do, and you can't afford to do the right thing, which is take care of that person...you can't afford to be in business.

You serious believe that ****? Benefits need to be limited to getting care for a while. This guys stayed on benefits even after it was no longer necessary. The German system was perfect for malingerers.

The German system isn't what I was referencing, though. I'm fairly clueless about it. I am posting with regards to workmans comp, which takes a Drs word on how long benefits should be paid, up to the point of long term disability.

My only point is, it is, and SHOULD be, an employers responsibility, to care for health concerns of an employee that arises as a result of the job the employee is assigned to do by said employer.

You have an employee break their leg on the job, barring monkey business, those medical bills are yours, as is compensation to cover the employee for time spent being unable to work. Can't afford that, then can't afford to be in business.

Meh, I'd evict them but I'd give them the full notice necessary for eviction. I wouldn't kick a toddler out on the street simply because his parents are idiots. I have a soul.

I would bet that college dorm law is somewhat different than a straight up lease agreement. I am going through this right now. The home we are renting is being forclosed on.
Of course the owner is saying he has it all under control, but I have my doubts. I read all I could about it and found that here if you are getting mail, its your primary residence. You cant be just kicked out.
Once the back actually forecloses on the home, we have 90 days by law. Unless he gets it squared away.
The owner is going to say that because it's easier to sell the house and possibly escape foreclosure if the house is producing an income.

Trust your fears, not his words.

Yeah, that man is basically screwed, sad to say. If they have been there for three consecutive days, they can claim residence.

Even if it's trespassing, lol. Welcome to FL.

A while back, I chanced to debate a group of libertarians who didn't believe in property rights...that ownership is predicated by use. I imagine they would be all for this.

Ah, teenagers!

Three days? No, they have to have mail sent to them there. Once they have that, they can prove residence.

Either way, are you guys serious? Like, that's an actual thing? WTF? o_O
