Apple CEO Tim Cook Outed as Gay on TV By CNBC Co-Anchor Simon Hobbs

Re: apple ceo is gay

Well then, anyone who doesn't like public foreplay should be sure to say "I hate it when couples engage in public foreplay", rather than "I hate it when gays flaunt their sexuality". To be perfectly clear: some gays "flaunt" their sexuality, and so do some heterosexuals. Singling out gays for criticism is just being an asshole.

No need to lecture me - I've never said anything remotely connected to what you're implying of me above.

I believe public flaunting of sexuality - BY ANYONE - is classless, period.

Re: apple ceo is gay

<snip>

And it should have been his decision to reveal that he is gay or not. It's not anyones' business, and especially not of that asshole who called him out. That asshole deserves a slap. Or a kick in the balls.

I agree. I don't know who that asshole is who did that, but he was very wrong. Just like he would have been wrong to say "The CEO of Exxon Mobil likes his wife to tie him up and make him lick her feet." When did people's bedroom preferences become a matter of public knowledge?

Re: apple ceo is gay

I own stock. All I care about is him running his company well enough so that I make money on my stock. His bedroom preferences are his business.

What if his bedroom preferences effects the stock? Would you care then?

Agreed.

Though I am still patiently waiting for my iMate...an Apple, robotic mate.

She will be cool, easy to 'use', difficult to modify and ridiculously expensive.

I will call her Pooky.

Re: apple ceo is gay

They don't.

Hope not, but you never know, stranger things have happened. There must be a reason he and most CEOs who are gay, have kept it a secret for now.. The CEO business is a very big "old boys club" where women and minorities have a damn hard time getting access too.

Re: apple ceo is gay

Playing Devil's Advocate here, but it could. If a CEO, for right or wrong, is something that enough people dislike that it affects sales, it could affect the stock price as a domino effect. Boycotts are not uncommon, nor are they always logical.

At that point you have to decide, do you stand on principle, or is it only about the money?

There are minority and female CEOs.

Are you thinking that Apple will oust him because someone outed him?

Boycotts can happen, but I don't know who would boycott Apple, or why, in any meaningful way that it will impact their stock. As long as they keep putting out products that people buy, they will hopefully continue to do well financially.

In this case, I agree with you, it won't affect anything. Shoot, it might even give them "cache" in certain markets. But each scenario is individual and while I think saying it doesn't matter is what most people should be thinking, it not always is.

Side note: I semi-boycott Apple, and have for years, because I don't like the way they do business. I don't like how they always try to wrangle you in to being stuck with only their products, then jack up the prices for their captive market. I'm not the only one, either.

Re: apple ceo is gay

t's when you're shoving your sick perversions in our faces, and demanding that we accept it as normal and proper that we take offense. Keep it to yourself, and you'll have very little trouble with any of us.

I feel the same way about wacky christians.

Yeah, you did need to be "lectured" because your response to Redress had a context. That context was Redress' response to Bob Blaylock where Bob was singling out gays for "flaunting".

If you really feel the way you say, why not respond to Bob, instead? Something like, "hey Bob, I really don't think its gays in particular that should avoid flaunting their sexuality, it's everyone who engages in foreplay on a park bench". You responding to Redress is actually an irrelevant post which nevertheless blunts the persuasiveness of his point that Bob is singling out gays.

So, I will probably "lecture" every time I see it happen, if I also happen to have the zeal to respond.

Re: apple ceo is gay

There are minority and female CEOs.

1% of the Fortune 500 are black .. thats 5 CEOs.
4% of the Fortune 500 are women.. thats 20 CEOs.. actually 21 now, that whats her name took over at GM.

And now there is 1 semi open gay CEO in Tim Cook.

Are you thinking that Apple will oust him because someone outed him?

If the results turn sour and they have been showing that of late, then yes it could be an excuse to get rid of him.. not the public excuse of course.

My point is, being a CEO is a white male heterosexual boys club, and there has to be a reason for that no?

Go right ahead - it only points out repeatedly the ignorance of your posts and affects me not one bit.

I don't understand how my pointing out the ignorance of your posts works out in your mind to the ignorance of my posts, but you go right on.

Troll someone else - I'm not interested.

You are the one who brought up the idea of the ignorance of posts, not me. If there is any trolling going on, it would be you.

Look at it this way, new brighter colors can't be all bad...

Re: apple ceo is gay

And this is related to the topic how? Oh wait. It's not.

Well, I know how y'all hate sum-bitches that don't pay their taxes.

nope, you certainly aren't the only one... i'm right there with you.

And you guys love people who legally don't pay taxes. All 47% of them.
