I'll be honest with you. I like a good debate when facts, and more importantly; logic, play hand in hand. However, I'm not inclined to argue or debate someone with an obvious agenda, especially one who excludes facts and logic but depends solely upon ideological dogma. I see no utility in it for me. Such arguments tend to be like rocking in a rocking chair; It gives you something to do but doesn't get you anywhere.

not bad ideas, IMO

We should require college administrators to report every rape accusation to the police instead of trying to investigate it (ie cover it up) themselves. Similar to the way doctors, teachers and other professionals are required to report suspicions of child abuse and neglect.

Good question, worthy of it's own thread. The phrase "rape culture" refers to a way of thinking that systematically trivializes, normalizes, or endorses sexual assault. To that extent, the term means "all men." I wanted to talk about the legal defense the football players lawyers were using but I see my off handed comment about "rape culture" stole the show. So be it. Start a thread about this and I'll join in. (or I can start it...doesn't matter)

We saw a source on collage students, but what data leads you to believe any such 'rape culture' exists among all men?

i don't have an agenda you made an outragous paint brush comment and i want some backing support for it. if you can't provide a solid study instead of 3 opinion pieces then say it is your opinion and not a fact. it is a totally screwed up opinion at that.

the reason for this post is because you can't actually backup what you said just like tres couldn't backup her comment either.

i ran into a similar lady at a job once. she worked for a vendor and we had to work in the same building. i reported her to my superiors due to comments that she was making along the same lines. her bosses told her to shut it and stop.

she thought people were watching her through the windows, she thought that men were waiting outside to get her.

so the only ideological dogma here is that there is a rapist culture in men. it is one of the most disgusting things i have ever read in my life and you should be ashamed of yourself.
more so when you can't even back it up except with propaganda.

the amount of men/women that rape other people is a small segment of the population as a whole.

they will find another place to party and most campuses don't allow alcohol in the dorms or anything else anyway.
the problem is getting that drunk to the point that you pass out. that is quite a bit of alchol unless they slipped her something.

roofies are still a problem in college, but only real low life use it.
most dorms are segrated depending and even if they aren't you are suppose to be on other floors at night.

the only way to really combat it is to for really hit awarness and the dangers of alcohol.

This is why NY wants to rais the drinking age to 25....while my state wants to lower it to 18 lol. We have SDSU, School on Mines and a coiple tech schools but underage drinking is a big problem here.

Sincere apologies for this, Mags. I was in a pissy mood this morning. I think anyone would agree that having sex with a person incapable of consenting is rape and nobody (well other than one particular person I can think of) would excuse it.

instead of dodging the questions why don't you back what you said up with something other than opinion?
The fact that you stated that there is a rape culture among men was out of line and dishonest.

now that you are being asked to support yourself you can't. so you are simply trying to escape the argument instead of retracting and apologizing.

there is a small segment of men that rape. there are also a small segment of women that do the same thing although they think it is larger since
rape by women largely go unreported. even so it is still a minority.

why can't you simply agree that you said something stupid and untrue and apologize instead attempting trying to play the victim?

I can see that. just like tres that made another paint brush stroke comment that she couldn't backup either. while i usually agree with tres on other issues this was seemed to go side ways for her for some reason.

The only women that i want is my wife it's why i married her and if i wanted someone else i wouldn't have and i would just find a different one every night.
there are only about a million women out there looking for 1 nighters. i like something a bit more substainal than that.

i think it is an issue somewhere the women think men are after them. it simply isn't the case.

And I can not prove what I saw at a Christmas party in 1987 any more than you can prove posts about your anything you ever saw, this morning or 30 years ago. Actually, it doesn't matter what she might have said beforehand at all. If she doesn't have the capacity/capability to later retract that consent, then it is still rape even if she agreed to have sex with them earlier.
