So Rand Paul called Cheney an evil war profiteer

Edit- you were for going after the bad guys before you were against it.

Yeah, please don't tell me what I was for or against in 2001 or 2003. Even if I was for the invasion, I would have soon realized that I was bamboozled by false information and that it was a complete clusterf!@k. I wouldn't be apologising for the people who misled me into supporting the invasion a decade later. I would be furious at them, and would make sure that all of my political commentary was geared towards the destruction of their credibility.

As you should.

There's nothing more a leftwing extremist likes more than to see this.

Come on, guys. Democrats and Republican votes have known about Dick Cheney's ties to Halliburton, the false narrative given by the GWB Administration to go to war in Iraq and the millions of dollars Cheney and Halliburton made off the Military Industrial Complex during said War in Iraq. They've known this for years even before GWB left office. Rand Paul isn't saying anything that's new here. He's speaking the truth much like his father before him did concerning many misgivings concerning our nation's government.

You meant Rand right?

Go get em Rand!!! Rand Paul... taking down the establishment one Republican Progressive and one Democrat Progressive at a time.

Republican Progressive? Sounds like a contradiction in terms to me...

Not if you consider Theodore Roosevelt and his progress--ive contributions to this Nation after McKinley was assassinated.
Just think of how current Repubs hate the 16th and 17th amendments.
Not to mention Federal control of lands through the NPS, NFS, National Monuments and now BLM.

Plus, he was an imperialist war-monger, snatching riches from other Nations along with the Panama Canal--
but best of all, he hated the Gilded Age wing of his own GOP and allowed Wilson to win in 1912 .

Naaa its camouflage.
Consider how Nixon is vilified by his own party these days-
Not for Watergate does not bother me, but for all the librul agencies he brought into gubmit, like EPA--got Love Canal?

And then another of my GOP heroes--IKE--and the Interstates we have to keep rebuilding -

Rand Paul is a (mostly) libertarian that realized the only way he can ever win in a two party system is by being part of one of the two parties. He's not really a republican, he's like the more politically appealing version of his father. One of the reasons I like him is he tells things the way they are. Cheney and the others are millionaires who made even more millions off exploiting America.

Yeah they do. They send young Americans off to fight wars for them so their buddies can get rich, but when our soldiers come back broken or needing care; they ain't no where to be found. Sickening really.

As with Hines VA Hospital in the Chicago suburbs in 2008-
Where elderly Veterans were wheel-chaired in the hallways with food pocketed-
Due to the lack of beds so sorely needed by Iraqi Veterans as well as lack of medical personnel then-

Yet we still haven't passed the VA bill-
Nothing short of a GI-type bill to pay for Med school--
where students would do internships for the VA and work at least five years for the VA as a Doctor/Nurse -

This is a few months old, but wow, I've never seen a Republican tear into another Republican like this. Rand Paul goes a step further than most liberals and says that Cheney orchestrated the Iraq War so that Haliburton could reap the profits. I'm a bit out of the loop. Is Rand Paul a mainstream Republican, or is he a fringe crazy?

The Paul's positions on Foreign policy are as twisted as the far lefts position.

oh, and Halliburtons first " No Bid " contract " was given to them by the Clinton administration when he needed a diversion from the Cigar incident .

I love how you throw Clinton in there, as if I give a f**k.

I'm not saying 9/11 had anything to do with Iraq. But after the attack and our troops were in the theatre Iraq was seen not just by republicans but also democrats as a preventative measure. It is well documented Saddam was funding the terrorists. It is well documented that Saddam was offering money to families that would donate a child as a suicide bomber. It was well documented Saddam was affording the terrorists training camps inside Iraq. And the threat of chemical weapons and arms getting into the hands of terrorists was real and still is. Hell that despot used chemical weapons on his own people for crying outloud. How quickly people forget the number of soldiers and innocent Afghanis were lost or maimed due to suicide bombers? It is why when Bush took it to Congress they voted not once but twice an overwhelming majority of Democrats and Republicans to invade as a preventative measure. Were there miscalculations and mistakes made? Hell yes. You don't have to agree with any of it. It is real easy to be an armchair quarterback. But the reality we live today is during the last six years Obama has been weak on fighting terror while making false claims that we had decimated Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda has been emboldened and the proof is Libya, Egypt, Nigeria, Syria, Yemen and Iraq is about to collapse. All this going on while we have thousands of troops still left in Afghanistan. Their threats have never stopped that they are coming for us. And Obama, his idea of security is a very porous border while spying on all citizens. Nothing spells feckless fail like the Boston Marathon bombers when it comes to this administration dropping the ball. Even Russia warned Obama's intelligence team about the Tsarnaev brother long before the attack. Terrorism shouldn't be a partisan issue. We can disagree on how to fight it but damit if what has been done the last six years isn't working, it's time for a reality check. And at the very friggin least the *))^^%& borders should be well secured!

The US CIA funded and armed OBL and the al Qeda. The US brought al Qeda into Iraq. Saddam didn't allow them. He didn't train them. Your information must be from a huge wellspring of misinformation. The war on terror is a joke and is just to make profits for the MIC. They always need a war. More people drowned in bathtubs than died by terrorism in the USA last year. Get your priorities real.

the US did not bring Al Qaeda into Iraq. That is false. Even the documents recovered at the time of invasion revealed THE FORMER IRAQI REGIME OF Saddam Hussein trained thousands of radical Islamic terrorists from the region at camps in Iraq over the four years immediately preceding the U.S. invasion, according to documents and photographs recovered by the U.S. military in postwar Iraq. The existence and character of these documents has been confirmed by multiple U.S. government officials.

Up to the invasion, intelligence revealed secret training took place primarily at three camps--in Samarra, Ramadi, and Salman Pak and was directed by elite Iraqi military units. Many of the fighters were drawn from terrorist groups in northern Africa with close ties to al Qaeda, chief among them Algeria's GSPC and the Sudanese Islamic Army. Some 2,000 terrorists were trained at these Iraqi camps each year from 1999 to 2002, putting the total number at or above 8,000 according to the documented information retrieved

The US military followed up with seeking out these location and videotaped what they discovered inside the classrooms at these sites.

This isn't something you would find reported at CNN or the Huffington Post, MSNBC or the Nation or MSM in general. It would interfere with the mantra that Bush lied and thousands died. But the evidence in documents recovered matched intelligence, as well as testimonies of Iraqis ... it's your choice to believe or not.

I love how you get "Bush isn't President anymore" from the same people who talk about Bill Clinton.

BTW, he's not President anymore either. Just thought I'd point that out.

How many died in 200l?
And with enough people sharing your attitude, no doubt it will be allowed to happen again. And who you going to point the blame at then?

When documentation was found inside Iraq to support the claims of multiple international intelligence groups verifiying that Saddam was running terrorist camps.
When the Iraqi people also gave testimony to it
When the locations in question proved such facilities existed how is that drinking kool aid? To ignore such evidence would be the kool aid drinker

Just trying to offer up some perspective.

Halliburton's " No bid " contracts were a issue with the easlily entertained and manipulated crowd for years under Bush.

If those people had bothered to do a bit of research instead of blindly buying into some nonsensical politically motivated rhetoric, they might have learned that LOGCAP has been around since the mid 80s.

And it only became an issue when the left wing zealots started attacking Dick Cheney.

Ah, I see you are unfamiliar with the phrase. You see, everything you have said would be charitably described as "party propaganda."

How can it be considered propaganda when evidence was found to prove such a claim? Multiple international intelligence sources, Iraqi government documentation, and sworn testimonies from the Iraqi people.

Like Cheney Paul is a straight shooters. I like them both. If the bad guys want war then I want Cheney.

Wasn't one of the goals of OBL to get America entangled in foreign conflicts, thereby bleeding them of human and economic treasure? Seems like OBL found the perfect patsy in Cheney and the Bush admin.
