She's on television several times a month as a "political commentator", she writes political opinion pieces frequently for national news organizations AND she ran for the freaking Senate!! How much more public can she get?? :lol:

I would rather have Cheney go face to face with our enemies than Obama, Biden, Clinton, Kerry or any jerk in the current administration.
 
Look Cheney does have some good points but he really has no room to talk. He had personal interests to keep the war going which is a big conflict of interest in my opinion.

People are referring to Cheney previous position at Halliburton. What they ignore is that Cheney rearranged his relationship with Halliburton so he would get the EXACT same money from Halliburton in the long run REGARDLESS of how Halliburton did financially. Whether they went bankrupt or tripled in profits.

IIRC (I'm no expert in finance) it amounted to VP Cheney covering his financial interests in Halliburton with what was basically an "insurance policy" so that regardless of corporate performance, his compensation would be fixed and protected.

Look at the companies who were awarded contracts in Iraq to rebuild and see where the trails go. Also, this didn't start with him as vice president, it goes back to when he was the defense secretary, after which he was awarded a ceo position. What a coincidence. Maybe on paper he gets so much deferred compensation and maybe that is what he gets but with the history of his relationship with the company I think it's naive to not expect some kind of kick back under that table. Maybe I am a little cynical when it comes to the ultra rich and powerful but for someone who has in the past profited from wars, it's kind of hard to take him too serious even when making excellent points.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. Maybe Cheney has good union representation.
