ISIS: Syrian Regime Working With Iraqi Government To Bomb Jihadi Strongholds
Looks like the Iraqi government has called on Assad to help them against the ISIS.

In another twist of alliances, the Syrian government has been bombing ISIS bases for the past 24 hours in coordination with the Iraqi government.

The Syrian bombings were concentrated on ISIS stronghold cities, Raqa and Hasakah. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), Syrian regime planes targeted a local government building, the ISIS headquarters, a Sharia court ISIS runs and the Palace of Hospitality in Raqa. Unconfirmed photos from activists in Raqa support the claim.

So we have Syria, Iraq, and Iran willing to work together? Hmmmm.

Well, this is going to be quite the movie to watch.
Iran helps Iraq and Syria; Syria helps Iraq. Obama helps Iraq. We seem to be helping our foes ( Iran/Syria) to engage against us or whoever we are supplying in that quagmire.. ????

Great foreign policy Mr's Obama and Kerry (Clinton).....

Curiouser and curiouser

Iraq and Iran have been allies since Bush installed Malaki as President. You didn't know that? You don't agree with McCain that we should fight side by side with Iran's Revolutionary Guard?

When you and your enemy have a greater enemy effecting both of you, you join forces against it.

I really cannot even pretend to have a solution but I have a slew of questions. Not being a party to inside information makes any reasonably solid answer improbable at best. Our country's administrations have not handled the M.E. with great aplomb. The most important thing is that previous admins are no longer involved; this admin must stand and deliver on its own; it has not done well.

Because daily occurrences change daily realities, my general thoughts and attitude (which could change by morning) are as follows:

This is not WW2. we need not ally ourselves with Iran yet if ever; We should remove all personnel ( with troops if need be ); all our furnished war equipment should be destroyed for we do not know who we are arming. Maybe, assist with air support i.e. drones and cruise missiles.

Stand back, watch and wait to see what happens.

We will be damned by some if we do not help; those same and others will damn us if we do. For an equal result let's just watch for awhile.

That's it for today, check with me in the morn. I may have some grandiose scheme to fix it all...

Good day to ya' Ig

Not anymore. We have no common enemy with any of those people. We need to worry about here at home.

I wasn't referring to us. The OP is stating Syria and Iraq. I agree that we need to keep our dick out of that hole.

Yeah I have this up in the Concerning Iraq thread 24. :2wave: Assad caught them moving tanks across the Border into Syria. He also Pounded some towns all along the Northern Border Hitting ISIS all thru their corridor, besides their HQ in Syria and their Religious Court.

They have 72 Tanks they took from that Iraqi Military base. Now the concern is all the Stinger Missiles the Iraqis had there.

ISIS also has former Baathists joining them with Military experience. Including pilots.

These Terrorists are everybodys Problem.....The Europeans need to act rather than sit on the sidelines.

This is a great move by Assad And Maliki. If ISIS supply lines are stretched thin, this could be a fatal blow for ISIS in both countries. What kind of planes does Iran have? Might be a great time for them to jump into the air as well. They can all get together and send Saudi Arabi, Qatar, and Turkey a nice F***U card. Let's see if results have Kurds talking new OIL contracts in the North. Maybe run a new pipeline through Syria and bypass Turkey.

Iran said they were waiting for Maliki to give them approval to bring in Air Power. So far I haven't heard anything about them engaging ISIS.

Now Assad.....isn't wasting time.

It's real hard to tell who's side the USA is on! Read the liniked article. Must be USA Energy Corporations figure they can get a better deal with anybody but Malilki? We know there is no freedom, liberty and justice in the picture and never has been.

Blowback? U.S. Trained ISIS At Secret Jordan Base
Blowback!: U.S. Trained ISIS At Secret Jordan Base

"Described as covert aid to insurgents targeting al-Assad

By Aaron Klein

June 18, 2014 "ICH" - "WND" - JERUSALEM – Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.
The officials said dozens of ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.

The Jordanian officials said all ISIS members who received U.S. training to fight in Syria were first vetted for any links to extremist groups like al-Qaida.

In February 2012, WND was first to report the U.S., Turkey and Jordan were running a training base for the Syrian rebels in the Jordanian town of Safawi in the country’s northern desert region.

That report has since been corroborated by numerous other media accounts.

Last March, the German weekly Der Spiegel reported Americans were training Syrian rebels in Jordan.

Quoting what it said were training participants and organizers, Der Spiegel reported it was not clear whether the Americans worked for private firms or were with the U.S. Army, but the magazine said some organizers wore uniforms. The training in Jordan reportedly focused on use of anti-tank weaponry.

The German magazine reported some 200 men received the training over the previous three months amid U.S. plans to train a total of 1,200 members of the Free Syrian Army in two camps in the south and the east of Jordan.

Britain’s Guardian newspaper also reported last March that U.S. trainers were aiding Syrian rebels in Jordan along with British and French instructors.

Reuters reported a spokesman for the U.S. Defense Department declined immediate comment on the German magazine’s report. The French foreign ministry and Britain’s foreign and defense ministries also would not comment to Reuters.

The Jordanian officials spoke to WND amid concern the sectarian violence in Iraq will spill over into their own country as well as into Syria.

ISIS previously posted a video on YouTube threatening to move on Jordan and “slaughter” King Abdullah, whom they view as an enemy of Islam.

WND reported last week that, according to Jordanian and Syrian regime sources, Saudi Arabia has been arming the ISIS and that the Saudis are a driving force in supporting the al-Qaida-linked group.

WND further reported that, according to a Shiite source in contact with a high official in the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the Obama administration has been aware for two months that the al-Qaida-inspired group that has taken over two Iraqi cities and now is threatening Baghdad also was training fighters in Turkey.

The source told WND that at least one of the training camps of the group Iraq of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Syria, the ISIS, is in the vicinity of Incirlik Air Base near Adana, Turkey, where American personnel and equipment are located.

He called Obama “an accomplice” in the attacks that are threatening the Maliki government the U.S. helped establish through the Iraq war.

The source said that after training in Turkey, thousands of ISIS fighters went to Iraq by way of Syria to join the effort to establish an Islamic caliphate subject to strict Islamic law, or Shariah."

Yep, I think we had some info up with Rebel/Terrorists being trained in Jordan. Plus don't forget th CIA was suppose to make sure the terrorists didn't get any Manpads and was to check the arms going to whom thru Turkey.

Did the Turks say if they were sending iany in after their people and Embassy people were taken Hostage?

I think you are correct about them being trained in Jordan.

Yes, dispute a few decades of foreign policy aimed at keeping them at odds with each other.

Stands to reason MMC. I think ISIS is most evil here at this time and with the array of completely incompatible bedfellows against them. Russia, Assad of Syria, Iran, perhaps even AQ but I have heard much from them in the last 3 or 4 days. But who knows, Miliki and company, Syria, Iran and perhaps Russia may end up being the most evil in the long run, in the future.

This almost sounds like a presidential race, who do I support? The lesser of two evils of course.

Looks like that matter will now be taken care of.....al Sistani has now called for Maliki to go. Which means Sadr follows Suit and now they will vote in someone else. Either way Maliki wont be in power.

So we will see what the change means when it happens.
