Deadly Flu Strain Created In 'Crazy' Lab Study

All the diseases we got in the world we do not need mad scientists creating more.These people should be punished with prison time.

Scientists have created a deadly virus similar to the 1918 Spanish flu strain that killed around 50 million people.
The experiment has been labelled as "crazy" by some, but the US researchers behind the study say it is crucial for understanding the risk posed to the public by viruses circulating in wild birds.
The team used a process called reverse genetics to examine the infamous 1918 flu strain.
The new virus was built using fragments of wild bird flu strains, then mutated to make it airborne so it could spread easily from one animal to another.
A report published in the journal Cell Host and Microbe said the creation showed that the genetic ingredients for such a pandemic already exist in nature and could combine to present a potentially deadly threat.
But Lord May, the former chief science adviser to the UK Government, said the University of Wisconsin-Madison project was "exceedingly dangerous".



This isn't the first time mad scientists decided to make or recreate a dangerous disease.

Umm they have a depopulation agenda, matter of time till one of the many they have created "gets out". purely on accident of course!!!!!
 
This is not true. It's all part of the same false science that gave us evolution, stem cell research and the big bang theory. This is just fake science masquerading as real science. There is no consensus on this - so we should ignore it and go on about our day.

Yes, it's dangerous.
What's even more dangerous is that people whose agenda is darker than mere scientific research could apply the same ideas to create the ultimate weapon of mass destruction. A virus that is deadly, easily transmitted from person to person, and has a long incubation period could wipe out a significant portion of the human race.

He's attempting to be snarky. Ignore it.

Yes, these morons should be investigated and prosecuted. I think we have enough scientific data to understand the risks of a highly virluent strain of flu without concocting one in a lab that would out do nature. My question is, who authorized them to create it and why? With what funding? Follow the money and we can understand the real morons who need to see the inside of a jail cell.

I am inclined to agree with you. I don't think it was very valuable to prove that 'all the genetic ingredients for such a pandemic already exist in nature and could combine to present a potentially deadly threat". It is like "duh, we already know that because, well, nature has already 'created' them before". I wonder if they got some higher value out of it that is not mentioned; something that would warrant the risk they just put the world under.

There is no scientific consensus on the possible effects of this virus. We must wait until 99.99% of all scientists agree on it. 95% is not enough. Also, people with degrees in homeopathic medicine will not agree. It's all nonsense, a big conspiracy to get us to buy antibiotics.

Next these Scientists are going to be telling us the only way to save ourselves is to pay more for energy.

You know, well save your lives IF you pay us, but otherwise you're on your own.

All these Scientists have done is speed up the process a bit.

The Bird population doesn't need our help in creating the next deadly Flu virus.
