Re: Seattle clippers

NBA won't let him since they hate Seattle.

Re: Seattle clippers

Balmer has already said he has no intention of moving the team to Seattle. If he buys it, it stays in LA. Since he retired from Microsoft he really has no ties to Seattle.

Every owner says they have no intention of moving the team. Until they do.

Re: Seattle clippers

He didn't retire, he was forced out. Gates told Fredo to go fish. He'd royally screwed up MS. Now he can do the same for the Clippers. Or maybe not, perhaps he's finally found his thing.

Seattle Supersonics to Oklahoma City Thunder.

That was a real pisser.

Re: Seattle clippers

I was hoping Larry Ellison would get it. Guy has some serious dough...

Re: Seattle clippers

Can't see the logic in moving the team, surely that would cause a big decrease in the value of the team?

It would actually be a smart move to relocate to Seattle though, and rename them the Supersonics. The Clippers have always been third fiddle to the Lakers. A lot of people don't even know who the Clippers are, but everyone knows who the Lakers are. The Seattle Supersonics had a great fan base, and only lost their team because of politics and stadium one-upsmanship.

Don't think they were that valuable right now. Being LA's second team shouldn't be worth $2 billion.

Re: Seattle clippers

who says the team is even up for sale. the NBA can't force the team to be sold.

Sterling's wife is selling it. I don't agree with sterling being forced to sell his team, but he is going to make a killing. His team was worth $500 mill and he is getting $2 bill. That is a nice haul. Just wondering what the capital gains tax bill will be for him,.

Not true. Even as second fiddle in LA, the TV contract is better in LA. This Seattle Sonic fan does not want the NBA back EVER. **** em.

It's not like Ballmer is poor. 22 Billion ain't chump change.

Larry gets 79 million a year in salary, plus, he owns an airline, and 98 percent of the island of Lanai, and has 25% of Oracle's stock.

I'd happily settle for Ballmer's problems thanks.
