Carney: White House Learned About VA Scandal From News Reports[W:72]

And management by congress and people remain secondary, which means there plenty of blame to go around. Thats how checks and balanced work. Thats how a limited executive works. Thats hows powers being derived from the people work. The buck stops with us.

The executive isn't "limited" in management of the executive agencies. Congress has oversight in the sense of REVIEW/funding - but no say in how the depts. are run

Saying we're all to blame is just an easy way to say no one is to blame. There is no management of the VA by Congress, secondary or otherwise. Management responsibility resides exclusively in the executive branch. We the people exercise our responsibility by voting. Those who voted for BHO share responsibility for his administration, including the VA.:peace

No, its saying everyone is to blame. Obama for mismanagement, congress for failure of oversight, the people for putting them in charge.

I'm going to do something here which I hate because frankly, I think Obama is the most incompentent POTUS that we've had in a long time.

That said...

NO POTUS is capable of knowing everything about everything. I'm not going to be a partisan hack on this, I can easily see the administrators of that VA hospital being able to keep this a secret. It happens all the time in any big business, I'm sure that many would agree with that, so why couldn't these administrators? And to top it off it is not unheard of for a President to learn about something from the News. Look what happened with Wikileaks and Manning, the first time anyone knew about it was AFTER it had been reported. Same with Snowden.

Seriously folks, this is not that big of a deal.

If not him, it's the mentality of the leaders he assigns to departments that think just like him. He sets the tone in his administration, and if he didn't know about it then some asshole just like him did.

Whats youre basically saying though is that govt is too big to be managed. These are the kinds of problems that happen when you try to manage an individuals personal healthcare from a cubical in washington.

Nope. What I said is what I meant. This has nothing to do with the government (or party lines) despite this being a VA hosptial. Bad people will do bad things and there is no way in hell that we can keep track of everything no matter how hard we try.

But what you said is a sympton of what I said. You just havent connected that yet. The President cant know everything? Exactly! Thats why he shouldnt be in charge of everything.

He's not, that's why he appoints people who appoints other people.

Yeah, I get what you're saying...government is too big, we need to shrink it! However there is a difference between being too big and being able to know everything. You could shrink the executive office down to just the military or just the VA and the POTUS still wouldn't be able to know everything that is happening. What you're asking for is just impossible.

No, but we should at least be working towards better. Obama could wake up one day and say, hey, i cant manage everything, so lets stop trying. But he wont, he'll double down, spend more money, hire more bureaucrats, pass more laws. And congress will go along.
