Michael Jordan: I was against all white people

So apparently your idea of a possible 'reformed racist' is only applicable to black people, not to white people?

ACtually, it seems like you believe the reverse

You clearly believe that Michael Jordan still is a racist because he was a racist as a kid, but Deen is not a racist even though she allowed the mgr of her restaurant to segregate the bathrooms in the restaurant.

But she did lose her job on the Food Network because her name was smeared and she was labeled a racist because she said the N word a long time ago, no?

No.

She lost her show because her ratings were dropping, even before the lawsuit became public knowledge

No, I don't really think either one of them are racists. I just wonder why if a white person who becomes famous and then admits to racist views a long time ago, they are labeled a racist and their name is smeared, but if a famous black person does the same, no big deal, it's because of their upbringing?

Can you name an example of this actually happening?

They really aren't all that dissimilar Redress.

One was an adult at the time, one a kid. One was promptly corrected by his parent and grew from it, one not so much. And so on and so forth.

Nope, she lost her job because she couldn't attract a big sedentary demographic (black people). You think it would have made a difference if her comments were against white people? Just look at all those "redneck" shows that still make money for niche networks and haven't been cancelled. Paula Deen sold herself off as a soul food loving woman against racism. When that image was completely betrayed by 30 years of her comments and actions, the network found itself in a tough position. Would it keep selling her off as a soul food loving woman against racism? Nope. It can't. Audiences would hate it. So they decided that instead of rebranding, they'd simply cut her loose and pay her a few pennies (measly royalties). None of this is even remotely indicative of a ruined career if one considers all of the other venues Deen has.

And we're supposed to just take his word?

No.

You should continue to think that he's a racist because he was one as a child, but Paula Deen is no longer a racist even though she was one as a child.

Don't put words in my mouth. I don't think either one of them are racist.
