Med school student auctioning off virginity | Local News - Home

KPLC -
A 27-year-old American woman is making headlines for trying to sell something unusual online.

The woman, who said her name is Elizabeth Raine, is offering her virginity up to the highest bidder.

Raine claims to be a med school student and said she already holds two Bachelor's degrees.

According to her website, Virginity Auction :: Virginity Auction :: Elizabeth Raine, the top bid is $550,000.

In an interview posted Monday, Raine told The Huffington Post that said she initially wanted to keep her identity hidden.

"I didn't like the anonymity. People mistake it for shame," she said.

Raine said she has been planning on selling her virginity for a year.

The No. 1 reason? Money.

The winning bidder will have to provide Raine with proof that he has no sexually transmitted diseases and is willing to have protective sex. He also may not be under the influence during the encounter.

Raine told the Huffington Post she is attracted to older and taller men, but understands this is a business deal.

In order to circumvent U.S. laws prohibiting prostitution, Raine said the actual sex experience will take place in Australia, where it is legal.

I've already been outbid. :2razz:

No wonder why she is a 27 year virgin now. ;)

2000+x what it's worth, for sure. and how to PROVE that she doesn't just happen to have a maidenhead that tore loose down one side, allowing it to be put back in place, (perhaps surgically)?

Just when I thought the whole thing couldn't get any more stupid. Now we're gonna worry about fraud.

It's getting impossible to have any faith in humanity at all.

Interesting conundrum - I couldn't imagine simply ****ing a stranger for money but hey - it would make for a great short story.

I aint worried about it, just pointing out the possibility. People commit fraud for MUCH lesser amounts of gain.

that's retirement level money, several times over. Millions of women would do that, right here in the USA, for a fact. Millions do it for free, every year, in fact. :)

She is going to be a doctor. Does she really need to money that bad?

I can't imagine it, but 500g would get it done.

Most likely it's a hoax - as I find it hard to imagine a beautiful woman managed to get through over 8 years of college without ever having sex - not once.

I wonder how the auction is being done . . . "Send me $20.00 and I'll let you bid 10-up" :)

This is how I paid for 1/5 of my physics 101 class.

You think she'll take bitcoins?

Well...her body I suppose...but I find it rather...pathetic I suppose would be the word. I understand doctors take in a lot of school loans but you don't need to pimp yourself out to pay them back. In fact my doctors, the ones I work for in the military, are all only in the military because the military promised to pay their loans in exchange for service. Now that's a deal worth taking. So she does have options. Whatever I suppose...but I don't think I'd want someone like that as my doctor.

I'm sure some rich millionaire would get a thrill out of her virginity.

With her picture though, and with being in college for that many years (2 bachelors and now med school) and the fact that she is selling her virginity I do have my doubts as to if she is likely really a virgin or not... But hey, student loans are rough, can't blame her for it.

She might, many are graduating with $300,000+ in student loans. The average I think is around the $200,000 mark and increasing. Not only that, but depending on her future specialty she may spend 3-7+ years working for around 50k unable to make substantial (or any) payments on loans while the loans accrue and build compounding interest. The loan burden upon physicians and others can be astronomical.

Oh. Alright. Very uncalled for..but if that's your thing. Cool.

Uncalled for? The joke begged. Lighten up, Francis.

It was funny for at least two reasons: that's not what you meant and it's calling you a virgin.

Lighten up, Francis.
