What could possibly go wrong with a tech lock gun? How about when the battery dies or the sensor is damaged/blocked - is it now a regular gun or does it turn into a very expensive hammer? One can dislike a new product without wanting them to be banned.

First, I'm sorry this woman is being harassed. A difference in opinion does not warrant abuse.

The gun unlocks every-time your arm is at your side, hand in your pocket, etc (the RFID watch being in proximity to the gun, as designed). Just my opinion but I only want the gun to unlock when I'm going to actually use it.

Also I don't like the idea of delicate electronics in something that makes a lot of shock. Electronics tend to brake when so treated.

Not imo, no, because that one avoided accident is matched or outweighed by the one time the gun fails to unlock when needed to defend against a rapist.

Whatever gizmo we invent needs to have a net benefit, and a significant one at that, not just 1 avoided incident.

They can't survive on dues alone. :) Without consumers manufacturers would be pointless.;)

Belinda Padilla does not pick up unknown calls anymore, not since someone posted her cellphone number on an online forum for gun enthusiasts. A few fuming-mad voice mail messages and heavy breathers were all it took.

Then someone snapped pictures of the address where she has a P.O. box and put those online, too. In a crude, cartoonish scrawl, this person drew an arrow to the blurred image of a woman passing through the photo frame. “Belinda?” the person wrote. “Is that you?”

Her offense? Trying to market and sell a new .22-caliber handgun that uses a radio frequency-enabled stopwatch to identify the authorized user so no one else can fire it.

Intimidation and bullying is why I don't care for gun enthusiasts very much. If they had a valid reason or argument they wouldn't need to use such tactics.

Never mind the possibility of a short in the wiring, or a battery that fails to regulate and overheat. Heat + Ammunition = misfire.

NRA membership is just a side show. The real money supporting the NRA comes from the gun manufacturers.

I admit I stopped liking them in mid 80's - 90's. They started to 'compromise' too much and I never rejoined again. I can see that they seem to cater more to the money makers.

Don't deny they are out there but more likely just young punks on the net that shows they are way too irresponsible for weapons. But you cannot punish the lot for a few fringe nuts.

They used to be a good organization whose main function was to teach gun safety. But not anymore. Money changes everything and not always for the better.

I don't think they're young punks. I think they're grown adult men in their 50s and 60s with too much time on their hands.
