One Percenter Convicted Of Raping Infant Child Dodges Jail.

I've become familiar with the story. The guy is a scumbag. The two tier system you're referring to is such a tiny sliver of what happens in the justice system that it hardly can be measured. It's the hope of people behind Huff's story that the number is significant.

However, I think the headline proves Huff is worthless. Why the reference to "One Percenter". It's bull.

Do they run stories about people on welfare who have done similar things getting probation? Do they run articles about illegal aliens being released, only to go out and kill?

It's obvious what the big picture the reference is designed to convey, and I stand by my statement, which is based in the spirit of Huffcraps headline.

It's clear by the guys actions he is a 99 Percenter who got lucky at birth.

Why do you hate poor people?

Not everyone can be born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

"Republican have been accused of abandoning the poor. It's the other way around. They never vote for us." Dan Quayle

There wasn't enough evidence to convict him and he took a plea bargain. He might have been guilty, might of been innocent.
It wouldn't be the first time a child was coached to say things to cause such an indictment.

From what I've read this guy should be going up the river for life.

You take the word of a child that may have been coached by her mother... It wouldn't be the first time such separations were engineered this way for better payouts and/or to get the man out of the picture.

The child's word is all they have. The plea bargain ended what would have otherwise been drawn out for mouths. To state as fact he is a rapist, is rather short sighted. Decades back, such cases were prosecuted more often until they found the horror the child felt after realizing they put their father in jail by saying what mommy told them to say.

He may or may not be guilty, and we will never really know. The damage is either dine or not to the child, but if the child is used for an improper conviction, even proper conviction...

Children often never get over such a thing.

But 'funny' uncles with lots of money and political connections do.

It's only class warfare when poor people do it.

"The law in its majestic equality, forbids the rich, as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread." ~ Anatole France

Actually, the straws are in the hands of those who are convinced he got special treatment because he has money. That will forever haunt you, and keep you wrapped in class envy.

FACT :peace :2wave:

Not after we take all of the rich people's cash away and send them to FEMA camps for re-education.

Shouldn't blind justice also be available to regular people, so why bother with Rape Shield laws which severely impede blind justice being applied to men who are accused of a sexual crime?
Isn't it also in the public interest to have fair trials?

Only for those who might, possibly, be innocent.

Wait...

A man confesses to raping his three-year-old daughter for years, until as a five-year-old the child was able to express to her mother that she didn't want daddy touching her like that again... whereupon the man is found guilty and the judge, fearing he would "not do well in prison", turns the guy back out into the street to look for more three-year-old girls...

...
and the crux of debate in this freaking thread is a partisan hackfest about "one percenters" and "liberal judges"??? Are you people ****ing kidding me???

Welcome to partisan politics in the USA.

The ones who believe rich people are above all criticism and legal ramifications for their actions.
If you guys get to say liberals love letting pedophiles go, I get to do the same about you.

I totally agree.

What's good for the goose, is good for the gander.

Those who can't take it shouldn't dish it out.

This pisses me off so bad. He shouldn't have to go to jail because he won't fare well in prison, what about how his 3 year old fares after he raped her and got away.

This is just disgusting.
How can a judge fail to punish an admitted child rapist.
WTF. .

Ask the judge.

No one on this forum has a good answer.

IMO, prison is NOTHING to do with rehabilitation and everything to do with protecting society.

Just throw the guy in prison for the maximum and make one of the conditions of his parole that he successfully complete a 'sex offender' treatment.
Frankly, I would put the odds of him ever being a decent human being again as very low
.

If you are so f@cked up to do what he did, I INCREDIBLY doubt that a treatment program is going to fix the problem.

I haven't seen any evidence that this critter was ever a decent human being.

Not everyone is poor, why do you hate all those who are not?

Probably trying to protect the young girls.
Of course. THAT is his motivation. NOT the judge nor his own role in the perpetrator receiving a slap on the wrist. In fact...really...I'm sure THAT was the judges motivation for the sentence. The good of the child. It all makes sense now.
