Judge Arrested For Contempt of Court

He probably pulled a "don't you know who I am?" stunt?

Or wait - he is running for office. That explains it. Maybe this is his way of showing he's a "man of the people" who will "stand up for the little guy."

He'll never be a Wapner or Judy or Mills Lane.

To this day, whenever I face a potentially touchy legal situation and need to make sure all my documentation and correspondence are squeaky clean, I ask myself, "Would I be able to go in front of Judge Judy with this?"

I always thought Joe Brown was boring.

At least your balls would come out intact.

I like strong women, but Judge Judy would put my penis on life support.

yeah he's a real class act.

Ever watch Judge Judy, whew, she's a pistol! She could be the epitome of a Joan Crawford if she were pulled over for a driving recklessly! :lamo

yeah she's pretty funny. I like when she gets angry with people.

I'm so glad I never married a woman like her, she can make a person feel one inch tall.:lamo

She calls out idiocy...if one is not an idiot, one would not have anything to worry about.

And, talking back to a judge can get you in contempt of court.

Obvious racism. Where is Jesse? Where is Al? Where is MSNBC news?

I would love to see her interview President Obama.

"Uh is not an answer!"

Why would you like to see her interview Obama?

I explained in my post.

Now can you answer the question or do you have another question for me?

Not really.

Do you not know Obama says "Uh" every third Word?

Do you not know that Judge Judy does not tolerate that?

It would be funny.

Now why would you like to see her interview Cheney and Bush. I suspect you don't have a reason. It was just a knee-jerk reaction to me posting something about Obama.

Well, luckily, Obama's term limit is near. I sure would hate to see conservatives knee jerk for 12 years. But, they probably will anyway.

I listened to the tape and Joe Brown is correct nor did he commit contempt of court.

He was before a fill-in judge not the regular judge of the court and challenged the authority of the judge to be hearing the case. When Brown challenged the status of the judge citing his specific basis for the challenge - which is a proper issue to raise and is waived on appeal if you don't - the "judge" held him in contempt and sent him to jail. This was an ego trip of whoever was sitting on the bench, not Joe Brown.

If a party challenges the jurisdiction of a court OR OF A JUDGE that then is the topic. Holding someone in contempt of court for raising the challenge is gross judicial misconduct if that person did have authority to be on the bench for that hearing - and criminal official oppression if not. I hope Brown burns that judge before that State's Commission on Judical Conduct if a judge, and before the bar association if he is an attorney.

Becoming a judge does not make a person a God for which no one can even raise issue with their jurisdiction or personal authority over a case or a person.
