Rush Limbaugh selection in children’s book competition causes a stir

Then that would be a no, you haven't read it.

Bwaahaahaahaa!

Then that means you don't even know that there are two books.

Bwahahahaha!

Um, the Pilgrims showed up a couple hundred years before Paul Revere was born.

Maybe you need to read them and learn something.
Only a couple?

Golly, I guess that explains why Rush Revere is wearing a three cornered hat...which wasn't even invented for another 100 years after the pilgrims landed. It's kinda funny that the pilgrims just accepted Rush Revere and his talking horse because usually they burnt people like him at the stake. lol

Bwahahahaha!

Does being a copycat increase your sense of self worth?

Very impressive, but your dodge doesn't cover your lie.

A moron with two books is still a moron.

More simply for you, zero times one and zero times two are both still equal to zero.

You are upset that a childrens book isn't 100% technically accurate?

You obviously don't recognize the correlation to history, do you!

FYI - Green Eggs & Ham doesn't have to be historically accurate.

That's your complaint? It's a children's book! :lamo

But, we're hearing the complaints from some of the most historically handicapped people in the world.

Not if the book is worth reading.

The hatred is amazing!

Haters gona hate, I reckon.

Hate is what conservatives do. Thats why you're here isn't it?

If you've read any childrens book, even a historical account, you will note that things are often not 100% accurate.

Just admit you are butthurt by Rush, and thats why you are clinging to this absurd point.

If the books are presented as pure fiction, or are historically accurate, I have no issue with the choice. If he misrepresents history to support arguments for the socially harmful aspects of his worldview (ie. his nationalism, racism and sexism), then I find it objectionable. As long as the Children’s Book Council is not funded by taxpayers they have the right to choose any authors.

For instance, the first positive review of Rush's book on Amazon is this:

Meh. I would put much more stock in someone's review if they weren't a fan of his. She is clearly a listener who doesn't believe that Rush is guilty of right wing propaganda.

His Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims... got 4.8 stars out of 5 on amazon.com with over 2000 reviews. Sounds like something worth looking into for the kids. I'm surprised it didn't get a lot of negative ratings based on all the pre-conceived notions people have of the author, politics usually drags everything through the mud regardless of whether or not it's deserving of it.

Hm. Not my kids. And of course the reviews are going to be good. The only people who would waste their money on such tripe would be people who actually believe him.

Stand by. Next month, Ann Coulter rewrites history by swearing up and down that liberals fired the first shot at Ft. Sumter.

Limbaugh is the chief propogandist for the far right. He doesn't advocate genocide, but he does promote the type of nationalist, racist and sexist attitudes and ideologies that tend to cause violence.

He doesn't hurt me at all.

Hid blind and non-thinking Dittoheads who live and breathe his heavily skewed opinions as magically espoused 'works' are the ones who are hurt.

They are just too ignorant to understand.

So somebody who is familiar with the show is less qualified to state that the book is not politically slanted like the show than say somebody who hates Rush and declares a book they never read is unfit because they don't like Rush? You really want to make that your point of view?

I wouldn't want anybody who listens to his bull**** give me a review any more than anyone who hates his bull****.

Personally, I'd rather have an unbiased review, but that'd be impossible to come by when it comes to anything dealing with that hate monger.

Nope - you missed that boat completely.
